Room, manager, old and dilapidated rooms

The view from the hotel is good and there ends the positives. I am sure some of the reviews here are made up. This hotel is located on an extremely steep and dangerous road. At night, it is completely dark and feels unsafe to walk—one wrong step and you could easily fall off. It is honestly shocking that a hotel would put guests at such risk. Further road that leads to the market passes thru a smelly garbage dump. So you are breathing heavy due to the slope and taking in that smell at the same time. The staff were completely unhelpful and reluctant to assist with luggage, despite the difficult access. To make matters worse, I gave clothes for laundry and some items went missing. This shows a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the coffee was outright awful. Staff behavior throughout the stay was poor and indifferent, making guests feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed. Overall, this place fails on safety, service, and basic hospitality. It feels like staying in a hostel. I will never stay here again and strongly advise others to stay away especially if you have families.

View is good from upper floors but the road is very bad

We were very pleased with our 2-day stay. Despite the older facilities, the service level was excellent. We had the pleasure of Thushanthan helping us with both directions, tips and service — and he spoke our language as well! Overall, a great place to stay for a weekend in Ella. Could use a little touch up here and there, and perhaps a broader range in the breakfast buffet, but truly a great offer for the price.

Séjour fantastique dans cet hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle. L'hôtel est incroyablement situé, juste au dessus de la voie de chemin de fer, et à 5 minutes à pied de la rue principale d'Ella (ça grimpe pour revenir par contre). Superbe piscine, au calme et profitant de la vue. Le petit déjeuner est excellent. Les plats sont délicieux (parfois épicés, on est au Sri Lanka), ils servent aussi des cocktails, des lassi etc, et on a eu la chance d'inaugurer le stand de glaces ! Et le top du top : le personnel d'une gentillesse incroyable, un merci tout spécial à Tushara pour son accueil.

Wonderful views very helpful friendly staff good food options walkable to the town. Could do with a quiet curfew at 11pm as people very noisy till early hours and not much sleep perhaps a small change to hotel policy that quiet after 12 pm? Otherwise was very good stay and would recommend

Hotel parfait a 10mn a pied du centre ville. Personnel tres sympa. Piscine tres bien placee avec super vue sur la vallee. Cest magnifique. Chambre tres spacieuse. Petit dejeune tres bon et complet. De la chambre magnifique lever du soleil.

Great location if you don’t plan on doing much else. The hotel is located on an incredibly steep hill with only a narrow side road to access it which makes taking the 15 minute walk in to town unappealing. The rooms are not very soundproofed and we found ourselves getting woken up at 7am by staff in the restaurant as our bathroom had a window which we couldn’t close which opened to the restaurant. You can hear everything that happens outside around the pool which makes sleeping in hard Incredible views of Ella

The view is very scenic and beautiful, but the hotel itself is old. Expect old-school room and bathroom. Sadly what it lacks in comfort and modernity, it doesn't make up with charm. The restaurant was bad (we didn't finish our plates) and while they boast about rich breakfast selection, the quality is lacking (we had so many nice breakfast in Sri Lanka, it's a shame!). Also the wifi wasn't functioning (even after staff intervention, we would connect but it was off and we resorted to using data).

Wow—best view on town! When I got to the property, I felt like “I don’t even need to go hiking, this view beats anything I could hike to.” You can literally see and hear a waterfall from the balcony! Super nice staff, good food, including a particularly nice breakfast spread. A little bit of a pain to hike up there from town, but doable in 10 minutes or a very short tuktuk. Room was perfectly good. Only quibble was that the walls (even though it was clear they had been padded) were very thin.

The views were amazing, room was big and clean, there is a steep walk to the hotel but staff helped with bags, the breakfast was average, overall a nice place to stay with friendly staff and views were unreal

Beautiful views of Adams peak and Ella Rock. The room was large with 4-poster beds. Staff were friendly and breakfast buffet was good. Lots of steps to the room. Highly recommend.

Mysigt hotell med fantastisk vy. Trevlig personal, fin pool och god mat. Läget va toppen med ca 5 minuters promenad till in till stan. Rekommenderar verkligen att stanna här några nätter för att utforska Ella! Det låg uppe i bergen och hade ingen hiss, vilket kan vara bra att veta.

Vi bodde på dette hotellet 2 netter og har et helhetlig bra inntrykk. Hotellet ligger litt vanskelig til hvis du ankommer med bil. Det er først en veldig bratt bakke ned og så en veldig bratt bakke opp. Da vi ankom hotellet var de ansatte veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Vi spiste på hotellet den første kvelden og maten var bra. God service fra restauranten som tilpasset maten etter våre ønsker. Utsikten fra terassen utenfor rommene er utrolig fin. Kort vei fra hotellet til Ella sentrum. Ønsker å gi en ekstra takk til meget hyggelige Thusara fra hotellet som passet på at vi hadde alt vi trengte.
