Check in time 2pm up to 3.30pm room not ready after I arrived they said cleaner clean the room. Checked in floor and bathrooms are wet. And lift out of service use the stairs all the time. No responsible for anything. When checked out time the keep asking what time going to check out. Resultant and bars are expensive

Pretty good

This hotel is extremely well managed with excellent service from the staff. I was amazed at how cheap the hotel was to stay there. The rooms have spectacular sea views and are roomy and well appointed.

It was very chilled and quiet. The bar and restaurant were excellent and could always find a sunbed too

The hotel is right on the Beach and our suite was spacious with wonderful views as all rooms have...food all off menu no buffet for full board and the drinks were relatively cheap

The pool area was very beautiful. The staff were very courteous.

The arrival at the hotel was great. The hotel is not huge so whilst it had plenty of guests it didn't feel crowded. The beach was beautiful. We also benefited from a free upgrade.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property - we booked a suite which had the most amazing balcony and view over the hotel grounds/beach and Indian Ocean. There were a few minor issues but this didn’t deter from our enjoyment, some aspects of the room were a little tired, and the shaver socket in bathroom didn’t work, so difficult to use electric shaver/ hairdryer/electric toothbrush etc. Also bathroom lighting kept turning off, although a bit strange it didn’t deter from our enjoyment of the Hotel. There are beach sellers who are very persistent who stand at edge of hotel garden, so every use of beach and sea involves passing them - that was a bit annoying after a while. The food was great and all the staff very friendly - the sea here is safe to swim in, it is often too rough in many Sri Lanka resorts. The beach here was gorgeous, very clean. We would thoroughly recommend this Hotel - hopefully the minor issues mentioned in the rooms will be sorted. I am not sure if it is possible to deter the beach sellers - but it would be a great improvement to the guest relaxation in the grounds if it were possible. We would hope to return one day to enjoy the views and hospitality again.

A perfect place to relax! Extraordinary service and delicious food! The beach is uncrowded and among the most beautiful in the area. We would definitely like to come back. PS: There isn`t a fitness centre at the hotel, but a small room with a treadmill and a stepper machine.

We booked through hotels.com, and got confirmation. We came there and they told us the hotel was fully booked. Did not appologize, rather blamed hotels.com. Did not want to call hotels.com to clarify. I had to call hotels.com myself. They tried to call the hotel, which did not pick up the phone.... The hotel offered us to stay in another hotel they have, which was Nice but not what we wanted and not on the beach. This hotel seems amazing, but very dissapointed and upset that we could not stay there, and not proper appologize.

+ alle Zimmer mit Meerblick + sehr gutes Essen, insbesondere die Fischgerichte waren super + sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal - unpraktisches Bad das nach jeder Dusche geflutet war - Fitnesscenter war nicht wirklich nutzbar ( Abstellkammer mit einem funktionierenden Laufband)

Nice hotel and place to relax, only things to maybe improve would be to add some ventilation to the bathroom as it turned into a sauna and to maybe increase the amount purchased for the restaurant as it did regularly not have my first choice of food - not great as there aren't many other options in the locality

wir haben für eine Woche dort Urlaub gemacht. Aufgrund der Sicherheitslage war das Hotel fast leer und wir konnten die Annehmlichkeiten sehr geniessen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, zweimal gab es Buffett, ansonsten 4 Gänge Menu, top angerichtet. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam und auch die Damen und Herren an der Rezeption. Wir hatten die Suite gebucht mit einem wahnsinnig schönen Ausblick und sehr viel Platz. Aufgrund der Buchungslage durften wir am Abreisetag sogar bis zum Abreisezeitpunkt bleiben ohne Zuzahlung. Da wir die Suite zu dritt bewohnt haben, wurde uns ohne Zuzahlung ein Bett bereit gestellt. Wir haben verschiedene Ausflüge gemacht mit Nihal, ein einheimischer Fahrer, der am Strand auf Kundschaft gewartet hat. Für uns war das absolut ok und fanden ihn überhaupt nicht aufdringlich.Baden am Strand war leider nicht möglich. Zu hohe Wellen und zu unruhig das Meer. Gegen Spätnachmittag konnte man etwas abseits ins Wasser . Da war das Meer dann etwas ruhiger. Alles in allem , war es ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt, mit einer tollen Lage, sehr nettem Personal und einen traumhaften Ausblick . Hierher würde ich sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Terrible customer service experience. Called hotel before booking to confirm that they can add 1 person/bed to room. Twice they assured me that they would free of charge. As soon as I booked, suddenly the additional charges began. They charged extra $$ for 2nd person (apparently only 1 person allowed in this 450 square foot room with a king bed and 2 sinks), and extra

Jättefint hotell med fantastisk service. Såväl frukost som middag är av högsta kvalité. Utsikten är underbar från balkongen! Havet är dessutom klart och alldeles turkost. Enda minuset är närområdet. Utanför hotellet är lokalinvånarna ganska påflugna och det finns inte så mycket att göra i form av aktiviteter.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Shinagawa Beach. L'hôtel est situé devant une plage magnifique et peu fréquentée. Les infrastructures sont en bon état. Notre chambre était propre et agréable (mention spéciale à la vue depuis le balcon!). Le seul réel point négatif est à notre sens la qualité du service ; si les employés sont très sympatiques et serviables, ils ont en revanche très clairement besoin d'être formés davantage au vu du standing de l'établissement (ex: grosses difficultés à communiquer en anglais avec certains, cocktails différents que ceux que nous avions commandés apportés à deux reprises, assiettes débarrassées alors que nous sommes encore en train de manger etc.).

Nice hotel on a soft, sandy, uncrowded beach with gentle slope and waves for kids. Service was outstanding. Not the best pool design and cold, ahem, refreshing, but we didn't find a need to swim there with the beach so close. All rooms have a view of the sea. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner although expensive for the area. There isn't much within walking distance, with a couple of busier towns a short tuk tuk ride away.
