Wonderful lodge in a wonderful valley! Great service. Great breakfast. It is on a busy road, so road noise was an issue if the window was open, and warm enough that we wanted it open all night. I think the rooms on the south side of the property would be quieter. Not a lot of nearby dining options, so would be great if they reopen their beautiful restaurant.

욕조로 주셔서 등산의 피로를 풀수있어서 너무 좋았어요. 주차 편리하고 방 깔끔하고 좋아요. 다만, 완전 안막이 안되고, 냉장고가없어서 아쉬웠어요. 위치는 매우 만족스러웠어요.

Traumhafter Ort, super Hotel. Besonders nett ist die ältere Schweizerin mit Brille, die im Service arbeitet - eine wahre Blume, die mit ihrer herzlichen Art noch das Tüpfchen aufs i setzt :-).

Bereits der Empfang im Hotel war wunderbar und äusserst freundlich. Man fühlte sich von Anfang an wohl. Im sauberen und ruhigen Zimmer konnten wir wunderbar schlafen. Sogar fein duftende Rituals-Prdukte sind im Bad vorhanden. Ein zusätzliches schönes Plus! Das Frühstück war vielfältig, regional und gut und die nette Dame, die fürs Buffet zuständig war, rundete den tollen Gesamteindruck noch ab. Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Even though it was cool outside, the room was not cooled down during the night as we couldn’t leave the balcony door open due to a lot of mosquitoes and bugs. Wish there were fans in the room! There were so MANY flies in the breakfast room and buzzing around bread and jam and such. And I’m not exaggerating at all. Wonder how clean everything is.

The place where we stayed is very comfortable quite massive and the bonus is that it has a functioning kitchen. It even has a big tub where my little one was able to enjoy. The view as well is quite amazing. Only thing is that theRe is no microwave, but not really a big problem for me. Also there is no where for you to the laundry, and for a big family like ours it was quite hard. Also the reception needs a bit more training as I have asked for some information but she just directed me to the Tourist info, which I think is a bit odd for a hotel to do that. There are also shops to do your grocery minutes away from the lodge. It is a good base families on holiday and would highly recommend it.

Convenient hotel in Waldhaus Alt St. Johann with a nice terrace, even if a bit dated. Very friendly service. Ask for a room away from the main road for absolute silence at night ;-)

Die Lage ist super, Einkaufsmöglichkeit und Restaurants in der Nähe. Auch wenn das Hotel direkt an der Hauptstrasse ist, hört man den Strassenverkehr kaum. Die Lobby und das Hoteleigene Restaurant wurde renoviert, das Angebot ist super, das Essen auch fein (Pizza und Pasta). Einzig die Zimmer sind noch "alt", aber wir fühlten uns dennoch sehr wohl. Hatten mehr als genügend Platz.

New owners and a fresh start, and very cheap for Switzerland standards. (June 2021) We arrived as some of the first guests with new owners. They did a lot to refurbish common rooms, and now offers ping pong, cinema, and lounge area. The rooms are standard swiss alp hotel with mountain view to my knowledge in all rooms. Location is perfect for hiking, but there is also a public swim bath right next door. Restaurant offers hand made pasta and pizza. Staff is eager to support and very friendly. We would go back again if we wanted to stay in the area. Value for money is higher than you would usually expect.

Preis Leistung steht in keinem Verhältnis. War mit meiner Tochter dort. Fr. 193.00 für das Zimmer. Alt und beim Zmorge-Buffet hätte man das Ei noch separat bezahlen müssen. Viel zu teuer für das, was es ist.

The hotel was nice. A little dated but with a lot of charm. The room was very clean and had a great view of the mountains. Our only complaint was it was a little difficult to find the staff to check in. Once we found them they were very kind and accommodating. Parking was easy and free. The scenery is the main reason you’ll want to stay here. The hotel is nestled in a valley between beautiful mountains. There are cows gently strolling with their bells all around the property. It is truely a perfect Swiss countryside experience. The restaurant located in the hotel was good. The prices were reasonable for Switzerland. It specializes in Italian food. After a long day of driving it was a perfect dinner. It’s a good thing they have a resturant as there was not a lot of other options near the hotel. Also, on Wednesday’s many of the other options are closed. So make sure if you a planning on staying here you reserve a seat at the restaurant so you don’t have any issues finding a place to eat. To quickly recap. The hotel is very nice in a beautiful area. The decor is a little dated but the rooms and beds are clean. The service is great (once you find them). And the restaurant is worth a try. If you are in this part of the world this is a very nice and affordable stop. P.S. we don’t have kids but it was a very kid friendly place. There was a room with toys and books along with a nice lawn near a walking trail for kids to play.

Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Auch Spezialwünsche wurden erfüllt.

It was worth going there as it is so peaceful and beautiful ......a perfect solo getaway hotel. The only thing I would say against it would be that the breakfast was not what I would expect from that kind of price. The walks round there suit all tastes.
