Lovely Hotel

The hotel is quaint and lovely. Rooms were big with high ceilings. Will definitely stay again!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The interior design is perfection. Location is ideal with short walks to amazing shops and restaurants. The staff is incredible- so kind and helpful and available 24-7. The hotel is immaculate. We can’t wait to come back!

Very cool place

Stylish and clean! This is our second stay at the Hotel Thaxter and we definitely will return. Such a convenient place to stay to see a show at the Music Hall, visit the shops, or dine in one of the many restaurants in Portsmouth.

This is truly a one of a kind hotel.Everything is done via text or phone and the doors have codes (so no pets are necessary). This small boutique hotel is right in downtown Portsmouth NH. Everything is walkable from here. The staff are amazing at making you feel welcome and appreciated. I’m already looking forward to our next stay!

I loved staying in this hotel. The location was perfect, room was more than comfortable and very cozy, nice touches throughout the lobby area and the room itself. I will be back.

Nice hotel in a great location, walkable downtown, However parking is very limited, the rooms are rather small think cruise ship small, and it is very loud. We were in room 10 and could hear everything outside and downstairs including the snow plow all night long.

The Thaxter Hotel was good (not great). We like the easy access and check-in/check-out process. The rooms are clean and quirky, bathrooms are nice but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. We picked this hotel based on its proximity to The Library restaurant which was literally right around the corner. No views from the rooms but we only stayed one night so it was no big deal. It is an easy walk to just about anything in Portsmouth (a great little town). I don't know that I would rush back to the Thaxter but it served its purpose for us. The coffee setup in the lobby was perfect and accessible 24 x 7. I would say overall our experience was good, not great! :)

Clean, quiet, and a great stay

This is a beautiful boutique hotel right in downtown Portsmouth. Our room and amenities were top notch. I highly recommend!

The hotel is adorable. Very clean and comfortable. The only negative is the lack of parking.

Our stay was great this hotel was so charming. Only problem is we kept hearing a door slamming right under our room all night long. I think the restaurant or kitchen was under us and it was bothersome to listen to that door slamming.

Great place and hosts

What a beautiful property! Our room was great and the added amenities were very nice! I loved the Nespresso machine and water and treats in the lobby! We plan to stay here again when we go back to Portsmouth.
