Room was too expensive for the for that hotel. Poor customer service, room not clean, and no answer when we called downstairs 3 times.

2nd time at the Kissel. Overall the hotel is nice and clean. A smaller 7 floor hotel which I like with a restaurant in the lobby that has limited hours. The rooms are nice and clean and well appointed. One of the recommendations I have for the Kissel is the staff are not as pleasant as one expect from the Hyatt. When I was checking out the front desk person asked me if I was someone else when the bill clearly said my name that was put under my door that I gave to him. He also checked me in and repeated my name over and over and was very pleasant the evening before. Maybe he was having a bad day....the valet was no where to be found when we got there and we parked the car on the street and then when we went to check in he was at the front desk talking to his coworker. Speaking of parking its 65.00! They charge tax on it of $11.00.

Room was very clean, a little warm when we first came in. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The man who works the bar is so nice!

Convenient easy access

I loved this hotel. Very clean beautiful aesthetic and the rooms with the patios is a great touch. The food can use some work. The breakfast was ok. But lunch and dinner was ruff. Over all great hotel and would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Kissel Uptown Oakland.

Great hotel. I stay here rather than paying high prices in san fran. Easy uber to the city.

It just misses the mark for a Hyatt property. The lobby was very elaborate but the rooms were just so so. Unfortunately there’s no parking in the area other than limited street parking so you’re forced to valet for 50 dollars a night. And the valet made it feel like it was a bother when you requested your car multiple times. Resort fees exceeded what was presented online and there was no transparency ahead of time, leaving me shocked upon arrival. I reserved a room that clearly stated city view and I was given a room facing a wall, the room I thought I reserved also stated there was a bathtub and when I asked about it, I was completely gaslit and then told only suites have a bathtub. The only real plus was the refillable water stations.

We stayed here for our daughter’s prom overnight instead of driving back home late. The hotel lobby looked like it was just redone, but the room was old and beat up. If you valet it’s a slow process especially if you are after 9pm.

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are fresh, trendy, and clean. There is a nice restaurant in the lobby as well as a nice bakery, coffee shop, movie theater, plant shop, and a church within walking distance.

The staff aren’t that friendly

Beautiful lobby and kind staff. Only downside is that we were told there would be 2 bottles of water in the room, so we were disappointed when we finally got into our room, exhausted from travel, and found only 1 (there were 3 of us staying in the room). We asked for a couple of bottles of water the next day from front desk, and someone kindly gave us 3 bottles. When we got up to our room, we found that 1 had already been opened. Just sort of bizarre. A/C also didn't work in the room, but everything else was fine and the neighborhood felt safe and clean.

Perfect for a concert at the Fox.

Property was great. Parking was challenging.
