If it had had enough parking lots, that would have been much better experience. Facilities and breakfast are excellent. This is my second opportunity to visit Kauai, this staying experience will make me go to Kauai again, even more longer stay I will have. Thank you for hosting us.

My boyfriend and I visited Kauai in June and we stayed at the Royal Sonesta Resort in Lihue. This resort offers the biggest pool there is on the island and we enjoyed it to the fullest, including the hidden but public hot tubs around the pool. In my opinion these hot tubs were the best part. Easy access to the beach and restaurants, and it has many amenities. We enjoyed our stay at this resort and I recommend it for a fun summer stay with good vibes and weather.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta Kauai. It's connected to a Marriott resort, so there are a lot of restaurants and different spaces in which to relax. Our room was updated and clean, though they only provide in-room services every two days. As a vegetarian, there were limited options and our best meals were off the resort. We traveled all over the coastline to many beaches and I'm glad we did. The beach at the resort is fine, but there are a lot better ones elsewhere. The pool is pretty empty early in the mornings and then later in the evenings and I swam laps and relaxed during those times.

Beautiful location

Beautiful property on beach. Great for families. Room had sticky stuff on bathroom counter and the coffee maker was filthy where you pour water. Did not use it. Other than all staff was super nice except for check on. She may have had a bad day. Great location.

Amazing! Workers are kind the pool is insanely nice. The beach is great. Literally a resort out of a movie screen. Partial ocean views from majority of the rooms too. Close to airport and located centrally on island!

Beautiful hotel with lots of gorgeous landscaping, including a koi pond, and artwork to enjoy while walking along the hallways or pausing to rest at one of the many comfy outdoor seating areas. The large pool was awesome. There were 5 hot tubs, so you didn’t have to wait too long before one became available if you just wanted to hang out in one with your own group. We were in a pool-view room, but there was also a view of the ocean off to our left that only got better if you went out onto the balcony. The nearby beach was also beautiful and relatively calm due to it being a bit more protected by what seems to be a natural harbor. We appreciated the nearby dining options on days when we didn’t want to hunt around for something in town or just got cleaned up from a day hike and didn’t feel like going out in the car again. Sometimes the front desk seemed like it could have been better staffed (especially if you were there after pool house hours and needed to get pool towels) but staff was always courteous and apologized for the wait if there was one. I would definitely consider staying at the Royal Sonesta again.

Close to many shops and restaurants. Hotel restaurants are pretty pricey though.

This property is beautiful! Easy assess to the beach and pool. There are some restaurants near by and the hotel also had a few, but were expensive! The only issue Ihad was that we didn’t rent a car and there was only one bus tour that picked people up at the property. If you have issues navigating the stairs be careful…the restaurant was down stairs and we could not find an elevator…according to the staff there wasn’t one?

My first stay here after it was taken over by Sonesta. I've stayed her numerous times when it was a Marriott. Staff displayed the Aloha spirit, room was super clean and updated with The only suggestion I have is the pool towels and room towels be examined for wear and tear.

Loved it. Will be back

Superb hotel

Great stay. Had a 2 hr checking in delay but we were able to use the resort facilities so we headed to the beach. Also, we were able to get a 2 hr delay on check out plus we we invited to use the resort facilities even after room checkout. So we hung out at the pool and grabbed some refreshing drinks. The room was spacious and clean. The resort area was beautiful and included the largest swimming pool in Hawaii as well as a nice swimming beach.
