Beautiful property with great views and history, but the service fell far short of expectations. It took nearly 2 hours and multiple follow-ups just to get ice and water, and the HDMI issue I reported was never fixed. The bed was missing a fitted sheet, and I even noticed a rusty screw in the shower grab bar. For the rates charged, the experience was very disappointing — staff were polite, but response times and follow-through were unacceptable.

The hotel should not be rated as 5 star since it's dated and smells old. The facility is not justified at all except two bottle of waters. However, the front desk staff were very friendly and warm.

We recently stayed at The Watergate Hotel in August, while dropping our daughter off at George Washington University, and it was a wonderful experience. The property itself is beautiful and, although some renovations were underway and the main entrance was closed, everything else more than made up for it. The valet service and check-in were excellent, the staff were welcoming, accommodating, and went above and beyond to assist us, including charging our electric car. The restaurant provided an outstanding dining experience, and the rooftop bar offered stunning views of the Potomac River. We were fortunate to enjoy the same breathtaking view from our room, which made our stay even more memorable. Overall, The Watergate Hotel delivered both comfort and excellent service, making it a perfect choice for our family trip. We look forward to returning on future visits to DC.

Hoher standard. Innen modern gehalten. Von außen etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Bar und das Restaurant hatten leider zu. Essen gab es nur auf der rooftop Bar oder als in room dining. Sehr schade. Tolles gym und der Pool war in Ordnung. Sauber und Dampfbad top. Alles in allem ok und rund, aber dafür recht teuer

Delayed check-in and poorly cleaned room

It was awesome. We were treated very well by the staff. We stayed in the Scandal room which made our trip even more special. Please note i did not steal anything from the room!! Except maybe that pen.. lol

Only first day I noticed after showering that the water started leaking out of the shower causing a pool a of water. I notified the front desk immediately who then contacted maintenance to fix the shower leak. 24 hours later my shower was not fixed. I had to contact the front again to ask what is going on. They sent maintenance up to my room again to look at the leak. He came to look and didn’t return for an hour. I contacted the front again to ask what is going on which is when they offered to move me. I had to repack my things and move to another room which had a smell of mildew. I bought my own air freshener and left the patio door open because I was so tired of moving around. I was not compensated for the inconvenience at all. It was almost as if they just said ok well things happen which I totally understand but at the same time it’s about giving people outstanding customer service when running a business.

Disappointed there are limited dining options at the hotel. Checked in at 9:30 on a Friday night and restaurant was already closed and only option was room service which was open until 11pm. The bar is never open.

Nice property with clean beautiful rooms. We really enjoyed our stay. House keeping staff was really good and our room was cleaned everyday to high standard.

Excellent service great location super nice rooms

So, I've wanted to stay here for awhile so I had a quick solo trip and proceeded to book. I checked in late (after 10 pm) . The first issue is they are doing major renovations. Your Uber can't pull into the main circle leading up to the hotel entrance. U have to be let out on the street and walk up to the hotel with no signage and its dark! I prepaid for a room with a tub. The room they gave me was super small and no tub or view. They apologized and said for 20 dollars more a day I can upgrade which was ridiculous. I went to the new room which did have a tub and partial view. She also gave me a late check out for the inconvenience. On to the next day... I went to the bar and had a mimosa and it was 20 dollars... The indoor pool option & jacquzzi was amazing! However they literally only had 4 lounge chairs. I thought about a massage.. starting price was 280 for 30 minutes! I wanted to go to the rooftop for pics and but was closed. Came down for dinner around 9:40 and the restaurant was closed! It closed at 9. I complained b/c they told me it would be open until 10. The manager had the chef make me a burger and fries for 50 dollars. Final morning wanted room service for breakfast... 75 dollars for 2 eggs, potatoes and toast! Finally, the hotel is dead. No activity, no food and far from everything. Be prepared to pay ridiculous prices for food, drinks and anything else! Customer service was great but won't stay here again!!

Amenities in the room were very nice quality, slippers, loofah, and toiletries. I was overcharged for car parking on check out when they asked if I had any extras. Hotel refunded it right away but my overseas bank took an extra procedure fee as a result of this misunderstanding. Room was a suite but the hallway between had no light. View was excellent.

Pool and spa is in the basement. Yuck.

What was unique is all of the service wanting to set up your room service in your room actually have a table to eat. It was so elegant and so well put together. Everything we asked for was delivered to us. Even the microwave.

I love staying in a scandalous room. All in all, the service was excellent.
