First, I'd like to commend your front desk representative, Payton. She was a delight, professional and accommodating. All my ratings are outside of her exceptional service. The hallways and rooms smell of mold and are not lit, just waiting for a fall and a liability for the hotel. Waiting until 7:00 a.m. for coffee is absurd - I recommend you change that to 6:00 a.m. While I waited in the lobby for the coffee, there were 8+ guests who came in for coffee and were as disappointed as I was that there was none. The following day, there was no half and half - poor planning, seems like there should have been a back up, easy. The grounds were not kept up with - each morning, there were empty glasses, trash, dirty towels. Disgusting. We were looking forward to sitting in the hot tub as well, but after seeing how many people were in it and seeing absolutely NOONE treating it with chemicals the entire time we were there, that was a hard no. The bar area is darling, I can imagine how fun it would be during ski season. The only saving grace that made our stay enjoyable was the beautiful grounds, the Adirondack chairs we sat on each morning and evening overlooking the river. We saw a black bear which was exciting and enjoyed a roaring fire made by wonderful Payton! We'd come back if some or all of these issues were resolved. Thank you - I'm not normally a complainer, but some of these comments are an easy fix and will help others have an enjoyable stay.

Great lodge! Will definitely stay again. Great lodge for family reunion. I live the balcony and the view was awesome!

Nice place well located 5 min from downtown and opposite of nice 2 restaurants. I liked the backyard facing the river with fire pits and spa.

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, spacious grounds, nice amenities, the hot water in the shower is excellent.

I wouldn’t change a thing! The staff were exceptional, the grounds were well kept and the nice peaceful creek in the back was the cherry on top!!

The rooms in this property vary widely in terms of view, balconies. River view is a matter of definition. The rooms are very compact and many patios are basically a few boards looking over the parking lot. Its very difficult to know what kind of room you are booking. It would be great to have a map of the rooms so you can tell which you are booking. The way they are portrayed in Expedia is not very helpful. I had to upgrade on site because the room assigned was really bad.

Beautiful setting, the pool is great!

I think it really is an old motel rehabbed like on an HGTV show. They did a good job, and the location is amazing, and rooms are comfy. I'd visit again anytime. Bring ear plugs if you are near the front desk, people chat in the front and in the basement lounge, they are entitled too, just l am sensitive to sound.

The outdoor area with the river view is the highlight of the property.

Property is nice beautiful area, grounds are wonderful! close to trails and restaurants! Rooms are small unless you rent cabin!

Great spot in Stowe, convenient! we stayed in one of the "cabins" and it was great! the grounds were beautiful and staff was great!

Awesome location and surrounding area. Great for quiet walks and relaxing. TV access is very limited.

Loved it! VERY comfortable bed!

Very friendly staff with a clean room. There are a couple fire pits and seating along the river where it is nice either unwind from the day or enjoy your coffee.

Good place

Loved the place. Sits right above a meadow overlooking the river with chairs and firesides where one can just relax. jacuzzi, Sauna and pool were very nice. Rooms a bit small IMO, but overall the place is gorgeous and so relaxing.

My gripe is more with Hotels.com. I had called what appeared to be the hotel's number. The woman gave me a price over the phone, and I said Book it. Then I started getting emails from Hotels.com, which I wondered about, since I hadn't gone through them (or so I thought!). When we checked out today, the charges for the last night were higher than what I had been led to beleive. But the hotel couldn't do anything about it because everything had gone through Hotels.com. This was very deceptive. I liked the hotel, but I will never use Hotels.com again as they scammed me on the last night's fee.
