On the first day of my stay, I did not receive any towels or amenities, so I had to request them at the front desk. On the third night, I asked for bed making, and although they said it was okay and took a note at the front desk, it was not done. On the fifth night, I requested additional towels again, and despite them saying it was okay and taking a note, they never brought them. As a result, I did not receive any bed making or additional towels during my entire 5-day stay. The service was completely lacking.

Perfect location and nearby conveniences.

Our stay at Tru Hotel Brooklyn was a 6 out of 10. The complementary breakfast was lack luster and very unappealing. The frozen orange juice was frozen in the dispenser. The food choices were limited. The area where the breakfast was provided had knats and smelled of mildew. The TV was difficult to operate or not at all. The hotel desk personnel could not operate the TV. We moved to another room in hopes that the TV would work. It did not. We were told that we could change rooms however we had to strip our bed and bring our sheets from our previous room with us because there was no maid service available and the new room we were moving to did not have sheets on the bed. We have stayed in Tru Hotels before. This was not the high standard we expect from Tru Hotels. The location was excellent and close to subway platforms. Tru must do better!

The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. We’ll return again next time in Brooklyn.

The hotel was comfortable with unique decor. It was conveniently located and I felt safe, both inside and outside. Will stay again if I'm in NYC.

Great hotel

Tru was fine. The front desk staff were great. Rooms are decent. The linens on my bed were dated. A stain on the duvet cover and pilling with the sheets. Full disclosure- I booked late. And paid double what the rooms can go for. For 500/a night this was not up to par. For 200 I would have been ok.

What I didn't like about the prooerty was that I ask for tol floor kn my reservation, got there abd they saud it was no lknger available, and put me on the lower level next to the elevator which wa d very noisy.

Long story short, this place is infested with roaches. I found one in my room, and all they did was move me to another room across the way, as if that was an upgrade. Two days later, when I went downstairs to microwave my food, I discovered roaches inside the microwave. I was so disgusted that I was ready to leave. I didn’t mention it to the front desk because I figured they were used to hearing complaints like mine. When I told them I had a roach in my room, the staff member didn’t seem surprised at all; it’s clearly a regular issue for them. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

Wonderful property at a reasonable rate in Brooklyn. Close to Park Slope and will be a regular spot for me to visit my Brooklyn friends.

One small issue...there seemed to be a loose bolt on the bed frame. We have been visiting our son in Brooklyn for 10 years and struggled to find a balance between comfort and affordable. Tru really fit the bill for us. The room is tight like all NYC hotels but was really well thought out. Very comfy and quiet. The workout room with a peloton was great. There is also a very nice space in the lower level with comfy chairs and a pool table. Also the breakfast was nice too. Staff at desk was really sweet. Neighborhood is good and walkable to lots.

I liked the set up, the convenient location to the Barclays Center. The downstairs area was different with the pool table.

Didn’t even stay.

The Tru in Brooklyn was a good choice for our stay. It was a relatively short drive to get to JFK for our departing flight. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was a nice start for our long day. There’s a bbq restaurant on the street behind the hotel, which we enjoyed very much.

Room was clean and very nice, staff were amazing & extremely helpful! Definitely will be booking again soon
