Friendly staff, great location if you want to just relax. Good food options and a beach nearby within walking distance.

Love the kitchen and private balcony. The bar and restaurant are great but there was a private event happening on my last night so I couldn't use the free drink tickets I got when I checked in. Going forward maybe a heads up or something if one or both of those will be closed during your stay would be good, that way we don't miss out on the opportunity to go there or use the amenities (ie free drink tickets).

Awesome views at The Waves!! AMA restaurant and Cane bay beach within close proximity made us want to stay on the north shore all week. Front desk and housekeeping were super helpful and responsive to our needs. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in St Croix I would highly recommend staying here. And my wife and I can’t wait to visit again!

Really liked the room and balcony. What I didn't likewas there was no restaurant on property. You can't walk along the beach unless you go down to the landing. All and all not a bad property and the highlight was the Ama restaurant and I would highly recommend it.

Owners (clearly owned by entities not familiar with the island, motivated only by 💰) present just enough photos to get you down there. That is the extent of the decision making “hospitality” Fortunately, they had the foresight to hire at the very least local staff. It’s quite obvious local staff had no decision making power. Should actual examples be required, I’m sure I can be located.

The best place to stay on the island

Truly, this property is stunning. I can't imagine it is possible to have a room with a bigger balcony or better view anywhere else on St. Croix. For privacy, The Waves gets an A++ and the onsite restaurant, AMA, is spectacular. That being said, after our initial awe, we did run into some frustrations. Neither the restaurant nor the bar on property are open daily. (Thankfully the nearby Landing Bar and Off the Wall serve great food!) There is really no place to hangout onsite other than your room or balcony. The property does offer chairs you can take to the beach, but honestly, the chairs appeared to be 20 years old; faded, frayed and rusty. We were provided with beach towels in the room, but these were also thread bare and discolored. These "amenities" definitely did not match up to the standards of the beautifully designed room. The bathroom is small and the tiny shower does not have a door, so it makes a huge mess. I will say the Malin & Goetz toiletries are a nice touch though! We received full cleaning service every day, but staff here is scarce. We did receive regular communications via text, but that got weird when we received a text accusing us of breaking a wine glass and causing injury to a housekeeper. We did not break a glass, but even if we did - the back and forth was unnecessary and bizarre. Ultimately, The Waves at Cane Bay has Ritz Carlton aesthetics, but unfortunately, it's akin to a Motel 6 when it comes to service and amenities.

We had the most amazing time here! Hotel is in a beautiful location and is a short walk from Cane Bay beach. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Bed is comfortable but very low. Only suggestions would be a toaster and dust pan in the room. The only issue is the shower does get water all over the floor. We would give this hotel six stars!

My stay at this hotel was exactly the relaxing escape I needed. Having the ocean literally right outside my room was incredibly calming, and every angle felt like a postcard. While parts of the exterior looked a bit worn from the balcony view, the interior more than made up for it with beautiful, thoughtful aesthetics. The beds and linens felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the bathroom and shower were just as inviting. I loved the in-room amenities—a cozy kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and beautiful dishes and cutlery. The complimentary bottle of wine, along with coffee, tea, water, and snacks, was such a nice touch. And the Malin + Goetz hair and shower products? A personal favorite. There were just two minor drawbacks: the hotel restaurant was closed during my stay, and the walk back from The Landing restaurant down the road was quite dark—apparently the street lights haven’t been replaced since the 2017 storm. That said, The Landing made up for it with their fresh-caught grilled whole lobster (offered in three sizes)—an absolute must-try. Plus, the beach being right across the street was a huge bonus. Overall, this stay was a much-needed, peaceful treat. ✨

Staff are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable of activities in the area. The room is wonderful. Property included a bar and restaurant that is a very short walk from the rooms. Most importantly the view is absolutely breathtaking. Book the room and rent a car for the full experience.

This place is absolutely stunning. One of the best views I saw on the entire island. Nothing beats walking out of a nice room to a beautiful ocean front balcony. The staff were insanely accommodating. Provided coolers, towels, ice, chairs, etc. If I return to this island, I will 100% be staying here again. Room is cleaned every day and water bottles replenished. No complaints.

Beautiful location and view from room. Very modern, especially for St. Croix. Walkable to Cane Bay beach and 3 restaurants, a food truck and 2 bars. Clean room and property. And unexpectedly, the best shampoo and conditioner I've ever had at a hotel! The only downside was that the on site restaurant and bar have limited hours and seating and we didn't get water every day. Very minor complaints for an otherwise lovely hotel and tranquil location.

The hotel is great. In a great location to be able to visit the entire island. Great beach and several restaurants within a short walk.

The room was lovely and so beautifully appointed. We loved the crashing waves and our view. What a spot! The staff is so friendly and helpful, filling our few requests on the spot. Being a few steps from Ama was a major perk. Couldn’t have been better.

Pretty property , when it rained the room leaked .. I think personally it was a little overpriced but aesthetically pleasing.. great location If you’re looking to relax . Short walk to the beach . Staff was friendly .
