Was without dount the worst hotel i have stayed in. They have very falsely advertised the property. Digital tv ..only terrestrial channels on a tv so old the colours do not work so a whole evening without television. Then the disgusting fact they say soundproof rooms !!! I was in the more expensive seaview room. The sea can be seen from 3/4 if a way down a street but the room is above the hotel pub. By 9.30pm no tv amd the ridiculous noise i took the matter up with expedia. The only staff available were working behind the bar and i was not walking into a packed pub to complain. Expedia called the hotel who said tv would be looked at within an hour, needless to say it was not. They also said the sound would be down within 30 minutes..it went on to midnight. I beg of you book else where. i come here to relax and false advertising made me think i would..it was awfull

Room was ok bed solid as a rock same as pillows. Music / band was super loud until 2am. Had 3 hours sleep. Asked to move rooms and was ignored twice. Checked out and asked for a refund for the second night at least and ignored. No talk or mention of live and loud music on website. One of the worst places I have ever stayed

Hotel in the perfect location by the beach and close to the town ! Room was clean and comfortable !

Nice enough for, essentially, a room above a pub. But overpriced. No 24-hour reception (nobody there at 11.30 am when we wanted to leave bags in advance of check in).

Room was nice and is close to the beach, was stood about 30 minutes in the lobby before anyone came to us I rang and I could hear the phone ringing no one was answering, when staff were about, so customer service could definitely be improved. it’s more of a pub rather than a hotel. If it was more professional and organised it could be lovely.

The service was excellent: really welcoming and also took the trouble to send some belongings that we left behind.

The room was very clean staff was very polite and helpful.

Music in bar below room 3 went on until 2am

Great room, everything accommodated for, good location. No parking.

Overall nice hotel, above a bar which can be a bit noisy if you want an early night. Only real complaint is there was a lot of loud door slamming in the morning on one day.

Good location and small but nice room

We absolutely loved the property and Olivethe girl that checked us in and waited the bar was absolutely wonderful the bathrooms in the room were brand new but for some reason we couldn't figure out how to get hot water

Spacious and clean rooms. Easy walk to the beach, the castle and the train station.

Loved staying at the Castle Hotel. The staff were super friendly, checkin was quick, and for being above a bar- it wasn’t too loud. It is super close to the beach and the castle ruins and a brief 5 minute walk to all kinds of cute restaurants and shops. The only thing of note was the toilet took a bit to flush and the shower water was more tepid than hot but overall, I can’t say enough good things.

Very clean room staff were amazing and friendly my kind of people would highly recommend the castle hotel 👍 😀

Everything was amazing other then the tap water not being clear at all had a white look to it and didnt look appealing at all other then that would highly recommend

Great stay. Friendly staff, nice, spacious, clean room, comfy bed. No complaints at all.

Never checked in. Didn’t feel safe leaving the hire car in the neighborhood.

Nice rooms above a pub, some have sea views. We’ve stayed a few times and will be back.

This is less a hotel, and more bed and breakfast. I was disappointment by not being able to drop a bag before check-in and the limited breakfast options. But the room was very comfortable, warm, and clean. The standby light from the TV was bright, but this is my only complaint with the actual room.
