The hotel was lovely and spotless, breakfast was beautiful, not much around the area, services are under a mile away, very comfortable room

I recently stayed at Ty Magor and overall, my experience was very good. The hotel was comfortable, and everything seemed well-maintained. However, the check-in process at reception was quite slow. I had to wait around five minutes initially, and when I was told someone would come to assist me shortly, I stepped out and returned to find myself waiting another 10 minutes. Perhaps additional staff or more efficient processes could enhance the experience. Despite this, I appreciated the hotel's amenities and would consider staying again. Overall it was very comfortable and cosy.

Spacious rooms and clean and tidy

Brilliant service but let down by lift buttons on 3rd floor not working and a very poor breakfast. Plenty of parking but car charging points not working. Ideal location for M4, rooms are spacious and well insulated from noise. Very quiet and peaceful nights sleep.

Got there no bed made up for the child that was on the booking. They then proceeded to charge £81.09 for the privilege of putting sheets on the bed. I informed them of the overcharge when I detected it on my bank account, 5 days later still no refund. They bang on about

First time staying here really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and staff. Room was immaculate and a nice big TV to watch! Will stay again

We travelled from Brighton to Wales for Green Man Festival. We wanted to get there early and staying here worked so we only had to drive 45 mins on the day it started.

Needed an overnight stop on my way to Builth Wells and this is conveniently located just off the M4 near Newport. Refurbish a little while ago and the room was clean and had everything you needed ( inc iron / ironing board, hair dryer, kettle etc ). Bed was comfortable, and the room had A/C.Very little noise. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, there is a bar next to reception with a large area to relax / eat etc. Next door to and apparently owned by the hotel there is also a Grill where you can order some decent food. A very enjoyable overnight stop.

Booked the hotel to be able to get into Cardiff for a concert. Good access and parking. Relatively easy to get to Cardiff via Uber to Newport station and then train. Unfortunately had to leave early next morning so didn't get to sample breakfast though it looked very nice. Would stay again.

Another great stay at TY Magor. The staff at this hotel are the best nothing is to much trouble for them .

Unfortunately the breakfast experience was less than good. There were many guests, the food was over too soon had to wait quite a while for a fresh batch of scrambled eggs and sweet pastry was finished by 8.30. I imagine the hotel is not always so busy, but definitely has to step up in terms of service on a Sunday morning

Last minute booking for a over night stay. Lovely room and comfy beds. Everything was top quality with Welsh tea and biscuits in our room, delicious 😋

We really loved our stay here, we weren’t expecting a lot for the price but it went beyond expectations! Clean room, comfy beds and a decent breakfast.

A superb hotel close to the M4 motorway but with excellent soundproofing, spacious rooms and very comfy beds.

Amazing stay at hotel Chelsea was brilliant and helpful. Only thing is I would suggest booking direct with hotel as I discovered that hotels.com add additional charges so the stay cost me over £60.00 more than if I had booked direct. I have tried to query the over charges but hotel.com have not been very helpfu

Really good stay

I had a room for 2 adults and 2 children. The sofa bed for my children was terrible. It was so uncomfortable, and there were gaps between the “mattress” and metal frame. It was unsafe and completely inappropriate even for kids. My child’s leg got stuck in this gap several times at night. The bedding was not even put on properly. The main adults bed was very unusually high. Furthermore, at breakfast the buffet was was missing bread, butter and eggs. We had to keep asking for them to be topped up and the waiter was taking his time to bring things out which meant we waited around 15 mins for all the things we wanted. This was extremely frustrating as we have a child with disabilities.
