We chose 5 star hotel like hyatt not only because the quality of the accommodation but also guest services and assistance. The concierge was not as helpful and knowledgeable as expected from a hotel at Hyatt Class. We asked information as to trip to mount buller, and it was mount buller info nothing that complicated (as we had been back to melbourne for years), we kept being referred to a different staff and at the end in the earliest of morning before we went and ask the concierge the staff told us he was not informed on our need of info and he was not helpful either, and even worse not speaking to us appropriately, instead we felt like he was lecturing us. we are from Indonesia and we have been around the world, we were surprised as we felt that your staff not as warm and as polite compared to other staffs. Nevertheless, your other staffs were perfect. We had a feeling that Hyatt asian staff must be better trained to communicate well and warm to other Asian guests. As comparison, surprisingly an asian staff at the 4 floor of AVIS rental office was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. We did not make any complain then because we did not want to ruin our holiday feelings. Hoping Hyatt Melbourne will take this seriously, as we as Asian travelers need to feel welcome and assisted, and underline this, we did not get the expected feeling surprisingly from the hotel Asian staff and your non Asian staff were up to the standard of a hotel at Hyatt Class. The rest of the stay is perfect actually.
