It was a hot summer when I stay the hotel. My room does not have any air conditionings. The nights were so hot to sleep well. Hotel wifi were very unstable and the credit card system were down at the restaurant.

For me, service is tremendously good. People are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful, it was worth to spend. Location is nice. Not new or clean as photos, but absolutely the employee of the hotels are as you are in good hotel. However, all were spoiled with toilet or tap water flow. Toilet flushing is as you are in mid of 20th century to flush 10 times or more. This is not only our room, even the toilet in ground floor. Shower is fine, even not strong but at least fine. I don't understand why showers are fine but toilet is not. Usually opposite. Anyway, if you are alone, it won't be problem. But we stayed as family, and not only one night, we were really stressed a lot when we need to go toilet. The flush doesn't clear up easily, and you need sweating work even you are in hot summer. I would doubt the hotel managers are taking too much salaries or the owner is stingy. Anyway location is good, employees are fine, and under Mercure brand, so people will select. But indeed, this hotel should not name as hotel. This is before to let people stay in the room. Change it.

Dated hotel but rooms are clean and comfortable with modern touches, for example fans and coffee machines. The staff are friendly and helpful. This was our second stay at the hotel and this time we had breakfast. A very good choice from toast & cereal to a fully cooked breakfast.

Bar was good with excellent staff. Food was very good. Beautiful surroundings and price was great.

Awful hotel. Dated, wasn’t sure what era it was meant to be in, rooms were boiling with only some kind of industrial loud fan to blow hot air at you and the whole place had a scabby vibe about it. It’s only redeeming feature was the garden area, nice open space, shame there’s no seating.

Great place, easy to find, lovely grounds & pool area. Would absolutely recommend.

Stopped over to break a long journey, great hotel. The staff made it, all really friendly and bent over backwards to help. The food was great, varied menu with some nice twists, and everything we ate was spot on. Great pool too. A little tired in some outside areas (bit of new render wouldn’t go a miss) but lovely grounds. Will definitely use again if passing through and need a refreshing stop.

Hôtel vétuste. La peinture de la piscine s'effrite, de la rouille partout dans les vestiaires, couloirs defraichis, on est loin des photos publicitaires et de ce que l’on pourrait attendre pour le prix. Même pas un ventilateur vu les chaleurs, seul hébergement du voyage à ne pas en proposer. Seuls points positifs : le petit déjeuner excellent et varié, et le lit confortable. Mais un hôtel où on ne reviendra pas. Le seul sur 15 jours où nous n'avons pas mis 5 étoiles. Dommage.

Good hotel but needs updating rooms tied and no Air conditioning. Breakfast was really nice and good selection.

Older hotel...but well kept and clean. Handy that it's located close to the main routes. Comfortable swimming pool and wellness. Excellent breakfast.

Completely adequate room for our needs as we were visiting Leeds Castle for a concert. Room was clean although very hot as we are mid heat wave at time of writing…no air con but fans provided to take the edge off. Staff were pretty friendly, decent buffet breakfast with good ‘full English’ offering. Well stocked, reasonably priced bar.

Room very hot and no Aircon and windows only open about two inches. A hot night on 11/12 July upon opening the wardrobe in the morning we found a Fan. Why the heck on heatwave three had no one in this hotel had the brains to think of printing out some small notices for the side table

Nice simple well located standard hotel. Nice big bed.

Very convenient for where I wanted to go. The breakfast was reasonable and pool and facilities very good

For a higher end hotel it was poor, staff were great. No air con in the heatwave which made the whole trip uncomfortable

No aircon and window locks make the windows v difficult to get any air in the room. My son’s toilet didn’t work And was already ‘full’ when they arrived and as the hotel was full, they couldn’t change rooms! The breakfast buffet did not look v fresh but the pastries were good . Overall v tired hotel :(

Definitely not a 4 star more like a 3! Hotel is very tired and needs an update in all areas . On the positive the breakfast was good.

Helpful staff and a relatively clean hotel cannot makeup for no air conditioning in rooms, which were stiflingly hot during our stay during a UK summer heat wave. Unfortunately the small plug in fan and safety-secured windows did little to alleviate the stuffiness and heat in the rooms. Overall it’s a lovely location with relaxing grounds but the aging decor in common areas, corridors and rooms is in desperate need of an update, even in the chosen eclectic style.
