母娘で泊まりました。2月ですが暖かく、ヨーロッパからの避寒地です。 部屋はオーシャンビューではなくベイビューの部屋でしたが、朝日が昇ってくるのが気持ちよいです。 部屋のアメニティはRituals、シャワー　バスタブ問題なし。 チェックインでは無料のシャンパンサービス有り チェックアウトの際は、あらかじめ時間を言っておくと、ポーターが来てくれて運んでくれる（というかエレベータが小さく自分でスーツケース運ぶのは厳しい） メインレストランはミシュラン二つ星で大変おいしい。ただソムリエに勧められるままに食前酒をシャンパンにしたらちょっと高くなってしまった。日によって、メニューをフリーで選べる日とセットメニューのみの日があります。 朝食はビュッフェ。　温めてあるクロワッサンもあり。特産品のはちみつケーキをパンコーナーでトライ。南国でしか見られないフルーツもあり。 町までの無料バスは大型観光バスサイズ、フロントでは「予約は満員、でもドライバーに聞いてみて」といわれたので、時間に行きドライバーに頼むと空席あり乗れました。町からの帰りは、降りたのと同じ場所で予約なしで乗れます。 エステは、ブランドはESPA、私達は、時間80分（フェース、背中、スカルプ）で一人約90ユーロ　予約は必須。初めて利用する人用のクーポンが部屋にあり、15%ほど安くなる

ウエルカムドリンクがありました。 スタッフも親切でした。 今回はアップグレードしていただき、とても景色の良い部屋で快適に滞在できました。 予約制ですが、街までも無料シャトルバスで行くこともできます。 朝食も種類が多くおいしかったです。 子供用のプールもおもちゃが置いてありとてもよかったです。

到着が午前10時だったが、快くcheck-inしてくれて、その上、予約した部屋がdelux doubleのocean viewの部屋からocean frontの倍の広さのatlantic suit の部屋にupgradeしてくれたので、check-inしてくれた人に、結婚35年の記念旅行だったので、素晴らしいプレゼント有難うと御礼を言ったら、その日の夕方に部屋に、セクト一本と赤ワイン一本とフル-ツが届き、びっくりしました。本当に心遣いとhospitalityには感銘しました。また、どのstaffの対応も素晴らしく、とても良い思い出になりました。出来れば、いつかまた、cliff bayに訪れたいです。

オフシーズンだったこともあり静かにのんびり出来ました。美味しいレストランも近所に何軒かあるし、ダウンタウンには無料シャトルバスがあるので便利。スタッフの対応もとても良かったです

This was possibly our best hotel experience ever. It was my husband's 50th birthday and management helped to make it truly special.The hotel room and facilities were stunning. The Cliff Bay is very well located, on a beautiful bay a few minutes walk away from the port area (I would recommend this distance away from the cruise ships). We enjoyed a couple of meals from room service (best burger ever...and we've tried many). On the opposite side of the scale, the Il Gallo D'Oro Michelin experience was extraordinary...food art and superb service. The hotel is in perfect condition and manages to be elegant and contemporary and yet have charm and feel warm. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and consider returning. An unforgettable stay.

For a long time I wanted to stay and did read many reviews the hotel is all people rave about and more ! Amazing balcony views and i did enjoy the view of the Port of Funchal it really has the best location in Funchal . The rooms are spacious with a very private balcony (6th floor) extremely comfortable beds. The service was excellent from everyone we met .

Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage, vom Balkon genießt man einen guten Blick auf Funchal mit Hafen. Der Service durch die Mitarbeiter ist tadellos. Das Zimmer war recht klein, wenig Platz zum Verstauen der persönlichen Dinge vorhanden. Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine und täglich 4 Kapseln + 2 kleine Flaschen Wasser werden bereitgestellt. Das Frühstück erscheint zunächst umfangreich, nach ein paar Tagen dann leider wenig vielfältig. Es gibt jeden Tag die gleichen Speisen, warme Gericht wie Rührei etc. werden komischerweise nicht gewürzt, Pan-Cakes sind ungesüßt. Das fanden wir geschmacklich nicht so besonders. Das Hotel ingesamt macht einen ordentlichen Eindruck, 5-Sterne Niveau würden wir aufgrund des Erscheinungsbildes eher nicht vermuten. Insbesondere der Poolbereich ist wenig einladend und renovierungsbedürftig. Die Zimmer sind auch teilweise eher ältlich anmutend. Wir hatten ein teilweise renoviertes Zimmer, das war ok. Diese Hotel-Kette hat anderswo moderne Zimmer, vielleicht wird ja hier auch einmal in naher Zukunft das Hotel „aufgefrischt „ und dem Zeitgeist angepasst?

Perfect in every aspect

Lovely property but had unbelievable service in other hotels we stayed at. The Cliff Bay hotel the Staff couldn’t care if you were there or not. Very difficult to find pool staff , restaurant , poor recommendations from reception staff etc - often just did it ourselves. Very surprised as we are not demanding at all but For the premium price I expect premium service . The other hotels we stayed at couldn’t do enough for you . I thot it was important to share as I would want to know
