Our room had ants in it when it warmed up.

The room was in good condition, but there was no staff around because I checked in after 6pm and checked out before 10am. It would have been nice to know that in the off season there would be very limited time when staff was available, but this wasn't disclosed in the email, we found out from a phone call just before 6pm. I was told that my room key was in the building across the street with the red roof. All the roofs had snow on them and I was assuming "across the street" meant from the main desk, not down the block and across the street from my room ( I didn't even know what room I was in until I found my key). There was a phone number to call for help, but no one answered and then I realized the note that said he was available from 10pm until 8am. There's a 4 hour gap in the evening and a 2 hour gap in the morning where no one could help! I found the right spot because there was a guy smoking pot outside the place who showed it to us. Really anyone could have taken our key and enjoyed our room for 4 hours before we would have received any help. I'll make sure not to stay in Waterton in the off season in the future. Honestly, when I booked I didn't even know there was an "off" season there.

Enjoyed our stay, but the room could use some repairs. The bathroom floor was cracked and lifting in spots and the bed needed replacing as one side was like sleeping in a hole. Otherwise, the view of the mountains was fantastic, the tub was luxurious, and the fireplace made it nice and cozy. Staff at front desk were also very pleasant. If the bed gets fixed would stay again.

Clean n spacious room

Clean room. Town very quiet in winter. Office to check-in was in a different building due to reduced winter service. Only issue was very noisy night due to extreme winds. No fault of Lodge.

When we arrived at 5pm there were nobody there at the reception so we had to call and explain that we booked this place and we are staying the night there. We had to go to other hotel to get the key and this miscommunication was unnecessarily as it was freezing cold on January and my baby was 8mo. They didn’t inform us anything beforehand. But overall everything else were too good with the price.

The information a out the lodge was incorrect. They need to update the website and third party information regarding the pool/steam room and what is open at the lodge itself. Otherwise- it was good and very clean. Staff are also great.

Our was a business trip to pick up an auction item. It was off season and the limited services were adequate as expected. No negative issues

We actually left after less than 2 hours of checking in! There was a bug on one bed as soon as we got in, the table and cupboard handles were gross and sticky and shortly after, I killed two ants on the other bed. My teenager was NOT comfortable even sitting on the bed, and wanted to leave right away, but I had food in the oven. There also was no baking sheet or oven mitt, which was a huge inconvenience for a place that offers an oven! I will be having a member of management contact me in the morning to hopefully issue me a refund. They said to also contact you at Expedia. We drove 2 hrs home, rather than sleep there! Not fun.

Great location, beautiful area, walking distance to everything.

It was a good hotel choice right in the heart of Waterton's village, so everything was a short walk. People were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable, and a good size for two. It was also convenient to have a restaurant on the premises.

The room and kitchen is small but cozy and clean. Would have been nice to know before hand that we needed to check in at Kilmorey Lodge. No access to ice machine but Kilmorey Lodge staff gave us ice. Kitchen had bare, bare necessaties....no salt and pepper, no paper towels, no dishwasher tabs, 1 frying pan, no serving bowls and no tray to cook things in the oven. Staff was friendly and did what they could with limited supplies on hand.

Everything was closed in town and boarded up. Pub and dining room were closed, had to go a few blocks away to find an open eating place. This sounds like the normal given the time of year but was not mentioned anywhere on the hotel listings.

The room was in good condition but the front desk was closed. The building where front desk is located was locked and closed. They left a note to go to a different hotel building to get the keys which was very inconvenient. They could have mentioned that beforehand.

We stayed one night at the Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort, but had to check in at the Kilmorey Lodge. When we first arrived, we found a big bug on the ground in our room. We didn’t think too much of it at first since it’s a mountain area, but around 1 a.m., I got up to use the washroom and found another huge bug crawling on my bed. That was unsettling — all I could think about was how I might’ve been sleeping with bugs without realizing it. The next morning, we went to the Kilmorey Lodge to talk to the staff. The older woman there, who seemed to be the manager, brushed it off, saying things like “This is a national park” and “You passed the gates — expect there to be bugs.” I was honestly shocked. I understand it’s a national park, but that doesn’t mean there should be bugs in the bed of a hotel room. After some discussion, they said they’d give us a 10% discount, but since we booked through Expedia, that couldn’t be applied. Instead, they offered a free breakfast at their restaurant. The breakfast was actually very good — big portions and a nice atmosphere — but the maple syrup smelled and tasted strongly like dish soap, so we couldn’t use it. Overall, the setting was beautiful and the breakfast was good, but the bug issue and the way the situation was handled really took away from what could’ve been a nice stay.
