The hotel was wonderful. It is clear that the 17th-century historic building is being maintained with great care and affection. The room was spotlessly clean, and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The quality of the meals served at the restaurant was also extremely high, and I was very satisfied. I couldn't visit the adjacent Somerset Museum as it was closed, but I look forward to seeing it on my next visit.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Taunton - staff were really helpful and polite when we checked in. The room was clean, comfortable bed and clean bathroom with all the amenities - great water pressure in the shower! Also the room was very quiet for a Friday night so not a lot of outside noise can be heard. Breakfast was really good lots of choices, fresh food and cooked to order items. Only negatives were we put our car on charge and the charger hadn’t worked so we tried a second one and had the same issue. Would be nice in the room to have better coffee instead of Nescafé sachets. But overall a lovely stay and would return.

Lovely building. Rooms clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was filling - lots of choice and well cooked. Only negative would be that soundproofing isn’t the best in the rooms.

With the castle ramparts dripping in wisteria the atmosphere was drenched in ancient mysteries.

Great location but a bit tired.

In a single room it didn’t feel I was treated the same as friends and family staying in double or family rooms. It was clean and adequate but not special. Breakfast buffet bacon and eggs first morning was not hot but there are freshly cooked alternatives. Evening menu was limited and not great although the hotel seemed half empty so I think the main restaurant was not open. Staff were generally very pleasant and helpful although one waitress spilled milk on my table said sorry but made no attempt to clear it up. Small things that leave an impression. Overall a nice historic hotel and very convenient location let down by small issues.

A heritage property in the town centre. In decent condition but to recognise its price point and position, a refresh of interior finishing would benefit, The staff are excellent, I interacted with housekeeping, reception, night porter and breakfast team, all are exceptionally friendly, the receptionist in particular was really very helpful and kind.

Building has lots of character and a friendly cat! Staff all very nice, room large and comfy bed. Shower a little low and weak but large bathroom. Great breakfast cooked to order.

The room was smelling the freshest, the night staff were rude and lazy leaving residents waiting out in the cold trying to get in and there was a fun fair 2 metres from the hotel with loud music and megaphone. Overall very over priced for such a dilapidated and aged building that is in dire need of updating.

Amazing huge room with wonderful views, really comfy bed, clean bright modern bathroom. Extremely lovely stay at The Castle overall. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the parking is right outside, and breakfast was chilled and relaxed with plenty of eating options. Can't wait to stay again!

For that special break, this Hotel definitely has the edge. The wedding we attended was very well managed by the staff at the Hotel.

For a hotel in he middle of Taunton it was excellent, had to pay to park the car though, but parking very convenient. Staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

The vegan breakfast options were extensive, the staff were so helpful and kind to us. The room was super clean and the building itself felt magical. We ended up walking around the area and finding nice shops and cafe's as well as the market on Saturday.
