Lovely staff. Very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Breakfast was amazing. Well worth the money for the quality. Location was pretty good. Grounds were very pretty and the outside gazebo area was very useful for the great got weather we have in June 2026. Our room had air con but I believe some don't have that from what our friend said. We stayed in one of the garden buildings. These are like mini apartments and you have to walk around to the back to get into the main building. This certainly isn't a problem. Getting into London can be done using the bus or mixture of bus and tube. Taxi to Enfield or bus to Cockfosters. We walked it once, to the tube, and it was a bit too far in hot weather. Highly recommend. We will stay here again.

Just absolutely beautiful and the staff were amazing!!! Sizeable rooms with a fridge and air conditioning!!! Beautiful walking paths. Will come back in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay at West Lodge. The Beale Arboretum surrounding the Lodge is beautifully well maintained, peaceful and full of amazing trees. Our meal in the evening was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast the following morning was also good, but a tad overpriced at £25 per head. The room was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed. Within walking distance of Cockfosters Tube station for anyone wanting to get into London, yet set in a tranquil oasis of calm.

.I stay here quite regularly, as do many of our company's visitors. Unfortunately, the most common negative feedback we receive relates to the bar staff. They are often perceived as unhelpful and lacking initiative, with little proactive engagement in assisting guests.

Rooms were like saunas. No aircon in the rooms and staff did not have fans available. Nice gardens but the hotel needs updating.

Lovely grounds

Staff on reception and housekeeping were great. They were able to get us early check in, offered to help with bags etc to the room. It was a busy day/evening as we were there for a wedding, however most of the time just one person serving at the bar and not friendly. We had 2 rooms, one was a little tired/needed updating. The second was better. On a hot sunny day both rooms were very very hot! I was on second floor/dorma style rooms and the corridor had a damp/foisty smell. Plenty of parking. Grounds of hotel are lovely.

The breakfast was okay, unfortuately the bacon was as tough as old boots, unedable, it obviously had been under the hot lamps far to long, no beans or black pudding available. The lift door was very slow to open obviously in need of maintenance, Mirrors in the room smeary, the ensuite dirty and in need of upgrading, shower over bath needs replacing, the shower head needs replacing or cleaning, the controls were hard to operate very stiff, the wash basin tap old and stiff, the WC was dirty inclding the floor area. Other than that the staff were great and very friendly, welcoming, the service perfect and our evening meal amazing

Breakfast okay, staff very friendly and welcoming.Good bar with selection of drinks. Toilet in my room could do with more scrubbing. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds; also close to Piccadilly line underground station. Standard rooms have no air conditioning. All in all lovely place. I will definitely stay again.

Breakfast was a full English and rooms where nice and warm during the cold weather outside.

Reception staff were excellent it the guys doing breakfast are all ready to retire!

Welcoming staff, clean rooms and beautiful grounds.

We've been staying about once a year at this hotel for quite a while now. The staff are really great and the spacious Garden Lodge bedroom is a very good size with a super king bed which is pretty comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. The room facilities are pretty good too. The downsides are the need for bedroom/bathroom refurbishments and their breakfasts which we no longer have. It's an expensive (£24 pp) buffet style breakfast only so not cooked to order and their offerings are a bit limited and not very tasty for this type of 4 star hotel. We are happy to continue staying there but only in the garden lodge rooms as the water pressure in the main hotel rooms is very poor.

Rooms are well appointed with a warm feeling in each room.
