Exceptional in all respects - location is perfect, bedroom in immaculate condition, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast, ample free parking, great staff who were friendy, polite, attentive and knowledgable - only negative was the bathroom was on the small side but im nitpicking - a gem of a hotel with lots of atmosphere

Great place to stay!

Great location, friendly hotel and lovely breakfast. We had a power cut during our stay which meant we were without electricity in our room for over two hours. Over half the hotel had power apparently but despite visiting reception we were kept in the dark! Not the hotels fault but they never once visited gave advice offered any support.

Room was clean although small amount of mould in corners of shower tray, fan cover kept falling down, bathroom fan was very noisy. Didn’t eat in the restaurant as only 4star food hygiene rating (expected more from this type of hotel), we ate across the road at the Cosy Club which was great! Overall we would consider staying again at the hotel as lovely area!

Everything was spotless and all done in a tasteful way. Staff and food were excellent. Location could not be better. Soundproofing between rooms was a bit lacking due to ‘energetic’ guests next door!!

Beautiful room, lovely combination of old world charm and modern amenities.

Room 11, was a good size, very clean with a good shower. As it was near Christmas and a Saturday night the restaurant was fully booked so we cannot comment on the food but the breakfast the following morning was good and hearty served by very friendly and helpful staff.

Friendly helpful staff. We arrived several hours early and were shown to our room as it was ready. On check out, we asked if we could leave our car in the car park while we did a bit more exploring of Stamford, no problem! Lovely breakfast.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable and great service.

What stood out most was how the receptionist and housekeeping staff went above and beyond after we had checked out. I became ill and returned to the hotel 30 minutes after checking out allowing me to return to my original room for an hour to recuperate I was then provided with essentials for my home trip. The service was exemplary throughout our stay and we would definitely return and recommend

Loved the rolltop bath and the size of the room. Great location and the bar with extended hrs for those staying...

Although I’ve marked everything as excellent, I have to point out that the signature plus townhouse double room is accessed by a steep set of stairs into what was the basement. However it is a very nice room and the bathroom, again accessed by more stairs down (5), is also lovely. If this was pointed out on the Expedia website, I missed it. If it wasn’t pointed out, it should be highlighted, particularly for those with mobility issues. Other than this, the hotel, rooms, food was really very nice and the staff are particularly lovely.

Just a lovely place to stay, set in characterful buildings in a historic part of town. Walkable to Stamford high street shopping, bars and restaurants, but I'd be happy to stay in the hotel for dinner and drinks too. Rooms are comfortable and well sized. If we're back in town, we'd be looking to stay again.

Lovely overnight stay and breakfast. Staff lovely - receptionist so helpful . Parking was a godsend but could better signposted. Crown has a nice outside area and is very stylish decorated. Stay was great - we were in Townhouse. Only criticism was mirror in bathroom . Ideal for most by being 5ft 1in could not use !!!
