My travel partner got Norovirus so we decided to not show up on the premises to spare the staff and guests. I had booked a full price room and breakfast for two the next day. They were completely inflexible on their policies to change our booking or offer any kind of refund. They would not even refund the breakfast. They blamed Expedia but frankly I’m really tired of both airlines and hotels blaming the middle party and not being remotely decent or compassionate for a difficult situation. I lost hundreds.

Lovely stay at Knipoch. Friendly staff, beautiful room, very clean, lovely view over the loch. Great food.

The staff on arrival were amazing. There was no space in the car park and one of staff moved their vehicle so we had a place to park. The check in process was seamless and all staff were ready to help us if needed. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and served by enthusiastic staff. Checking out, we were very disappointed that we did not have more nights here as we felt it was one of the highlights of the road trip around the Highlands. Definately one place to return to and recommend to friends.

This is a very nice property outside of Oban. Knipoch House Hotel is situated in a quiet location and offers very good food on-site. We were only there for a short time, on our way to Glasgow, but it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

What a beautiful surprise it was to stay at this hotel. It exceeded our expectations and was great value, amazing team and service and has a fantastic resturant!

Lovely boutique hotel just out of the town with a nice view. A ideal place to be for quiet but within driving distance of Oban. Although our room was lovely and we had a good view of the loch, we could also see the bins right below our room, this could be avoided by just covering the bin area.

Our stay at this 15th-century country house was a truly memorable experience. Nestled just across the street from a stunning loch and only a short drive from Oban, the location perfectly blends history, tranquility, and convenience. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, setting the tone for the rest of our visit. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with windows overlooking the front garden and loch — a peaceful and picturesque view to wake up to. As you'd expect with a house of this age, the walls were quite thin. We could hear the guests next door and even some noise from the staff in the room above. It’s part of the charm of an older property, though worth noting if you're a light sleeper. The dining room was a lovely space — charming and character-filled, with paintings adorning the walls. There were also two cozy sitting areas, each with comfortable couches, armchairs, and inviting fireplaces. These were the perfect spots to unwind with a glass of scotch from the bar after a day of exploring. Overall, a unique and relaxing stay in a beautifully historic setting. Would highly recommend for those looking to experience a bit of Scottish charm and heritage. But still are enjoying the modern amenities of upgraded bathrooms☺️

Room was very nice and well put together. Beautiful bathroom. Service and amenities were lacking a bit and the restaurant was ok but wildly overpriced. Staff was courteous but never made us feel comfortable or wanted.

Enjoyed our stay - beautiful location in glorious weather!! ☀️ Just a few extra touches would have made all the difference, such as upgraded amenities in our room (providing tissues, magnifying mirror, better quality toiletries etc) and more varied dining and breakfast menu options, otherwise a fairly standard 4 star hotel. Biggest issue was the creaky floor above our bedroom, sounded like the elephants were having a dance!! All in all however, we would definitely stay there again 😊

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, gemütlich und scheint sehr frisch renoviert zu sein. Das Frühstück ist überschaubar, aber gut und ausreichend, das Restaurant für den Abend ist auf sehr hohem Niveau. Die Einrichtung ist im alten schottischen/englischen Stil, ohne dabei verstaubt zu wirken. Die Lage des Hotels ist ein weiteres Highlight! Direkt am See mit einem grosszügig angelegten Garten.

Beautiful location, great for exploring the Argyll coast and Oban. Rooms, reception and lounge all very nice and redecorated in past year or so. Dining room a bit tired and gloomy. The food we had was decent. Not great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Clean, quiet and welcoming. Room had a not so appealing view of a grassy, weedy bank with construction ladders. Auto lights and fan when going into the bathroom at night can be abrupt and startling. Overall a really lovely place with good amenities, welcoming staff, with good food.

We had two rooms, one had clearly been renovated, whilst the other hadn't. Renovated room was lovely (especially the bathroom), other room was okay, but wouldn't necessarily want that one again for the price. Shower was in dire need of a refurb. Rooms both had a lovely view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Be aware that there is not a lift in the property - we were travelling with an elderly family member and the stairs would have been an issue if we were staying longer. If you are considering breakfast, pay for the cooked version, as continental is very very limited. Overall, a good stay, and I would return.

My favorite property I have ever stayed at. The staff is extremely caring and sweet. They all made sure that they made our stay for our honeymoon special.
