Actually, the stay had its pluses and minuses. The hotel is vintage nineteen sixties Thai, which brought back a lot of memories but might not please people looking for more modern accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful - especially the two beautiful cats who were assistants to the front security staff! Room was huge, but poorly lit.Bed comfortable. We had some problems with the hot water supply. Possibly the biggest issue was that the room had a strange smell, which might have been from the aircon unit not having been used for a long time. Eventually this smell dissipated, but it lasted for quite a while and gave me a headache. I should say that my main reason for staying here was that it was close to the location of a conference I had to attend early the next morning.
