The rooms are on the older side same as the bathroom, I will not recommend walking barefoot on the carpet

Excellent location. Walkable to downtown attractions and right on the beach. Everything was clean and kept nice. The staff was very friendly. We got to the city several hours before check-in, and they allowed us access to the beach and pool while we waited for our room to be ready. We also received wristbands for a waterpark down the street, but we didn’t use them so I can’t comment on that, but it was a nice unexpected extra. Laundry on-site was a bonus. The breakfast was better than your average hotel breakfast, with plenty of seating for everyone. If I ever find myself back in this city, I’ll definitely stay here again.

I like the beach and water.

The ladies at check in was very sweet and helpful. They couldn’t find my reservation but found it soon and got me checked in. The room was a decent size but probably could use a little bit of updating. The beds and pillows definitely need updating. I have no problem with the employees. They were all nice.

Power went out !!! No aircon .

The hotel was clean, and the beds were nice. The staff was working hard and that’s appreciated. The hotel overall is dated, and the check-in process was also outdated as there was quite a bit of paperwork; nothing was digital.

Our stay was near excellent. Friendly service, great staff, clean rooms, convenient accessories, nice layout, great walkout overlooking beachfront. Good breakfast bar, with hot food. Only hiccup. We lost half of hotel power for about three hours, first day. No big deal. Most things were working. Maintenance department had to wait for new part to arrive. But, got it fixed in reasonable time. ( I know, because I happen to be a Master Electrician for State of Michigan). Yes, I would stay again.

It was a good property. The beach in front of the property is not an accessible beach. It’s not desirable to go to the beach at the property. It looks run down and there are no chairs outside to sit and relax in the sun. The pictures are not accurate regarding the property beach front access. Because of erosion there isn’t any beach to enjoy the advertisement is mis-leading. In general, a good stay.

Staff was friendly. Views were amazing and breakfast was good.

Hotel was over priced for the way it looked. Dingy and old feeling, needs a lot of upgrades.

I usually don’t write a review, but with the experience I had I wanted to inform you guys just incase it happens to you. I had originally booked this hotel for one night (Saturday to Sunday) and after check out, I realized that Expedia had booked the days for Sunday and Monday, now this was controversial because my brother has an appointment on Monday, so I tried to see if they could change the date and it said I would essentially pay $187 on top of the $187 I just payed to switch the days.I also bought the Expedia protection plan (which I don’t recommend) to see if there’s any way I could get out of this charge and to no avail, they got ahold of the manager and they said their strict rules doesn’t allow that. So, long story short we had to replan our trip to the next day (we are lucky to live in Michigan and live a few hours from here), skip my brothers appointment, if we were coming from a different state or had a long drive it could’ve ruined the whole trip. Positives are that the hotel staff was incredibly nice, we were able to check in @3:30, we also bought tickets to the Shepler’s ferry (at a discounted price) at the check in desk. I also read a few reviews on here that said they have noticed that they put Expedia purchasers facing the parking lot and that was true on my experience.Overall the room was great, besides the beds being uncomfortable, breakfast is from 7am-9am and it was okay as well. I would say it was an overall good experience and stay.

Great location! Easy walk to the city center. Very friendly staff. Clean but a bit dated. Nice beach but shady in the afternoon hours.

This property may be next to the water but it is extremely dated. Lights don't work, smells and the majority of the staff seem to hate the hotel guest. Definitely not worth the money. Stay 45 minutes away in Gaylord. A lot better options and it is a quick drive.

The properties were too close together Beach area was too small

Overall this stay was one of the worst by far. With Hotels.com I selected to pay at the hotel upon our departure. I received a call the night before my reservation letting me know that my card was declined. I asked why it was ran in the first place and was told it was a preauthorization fee and my room would not be held without another card to run. I refused to give another card and told the manager, Michelle, I would call my bank in the morning, as they were already closed. She was extremely rude and reluctantly agreed, demanding that I call by 9am. I did reach my bank the next day and the payment in fact did go through for preauthorization. A callnwas made back to Michelle and again, she was very rude. Upon arrival at the hotel my husband and I were greeted rudely and charged the rest of our stay even after I had requested to pay after. Our room was not clean, there was a dirty pillowcase shoved in the bottom of the nightstand that remained through our stay. The food was poor quality. The staff was unfriendly. The bed was uncomfortable.The only good thing about our stay was the view, beachside balcony. Even with the view the people were loud and the beach area was often trashed by other visitors. We were very disappointed with the service!

The property needs a major facelift. The wallpaper is old and peeling. The rooms are very outdated and worn. Rooms very dark, carpet and furniture gross. For the price of this hotel the condition was unacceptable
