I think that this B&B is modelled on a "Blackpool Guest House" from the 1970s? We rang the bell to be met by a young women with bare feet, who took us to our room, told us to fill out a form for breakfast and showed us where the guest entrance and exit was, and we were not allowed back through the front door again?! This turned out to be the fire escape with fairly steep exposed metal stairs, over a wet roof - not exactly great for anyone of advancing years or with any sort of disability. She then disappeared, never to be seen again, apart from when she delivered the cooked breakfast, without a word.
The whole place is filthy - dirty with marks on the walls, skirting boards and carpets. The bathroom has not been properly cleaned in years, the shower is filthy - do NOT touch the toilet brush - it is disgusting with accumulated human waste from at least the last 12 months!
The bed and other furniture are completely clapped out, the mattress has two troughs like concrete, on each side, which you cannot help but fall into and the winceyette velour under pillow makes me shudder, as I'm sure that the bedbugs are multiplying daily!
Breakfast is to the lowest value standards, with basic bread, orange juice and all other ingredients. Everything in the cooked breakfast was overdone.
Nobody asked whether we were happy, satisfied or anything else, so we had no opportunity to discuss these dreadful shortcomings and we left by the "Guest Exit" and put the keys through the letterbox.
