近代的設備ではなく骨董品のような建物であるが、趣味の良い古いホテル。　ホテル内には夕食時のレストランは無いが、すぐ近くにいろんな食事処があり、予約も親切に取ってくれる。　朝食ビュッフェの料金は安いとは言えないが、ハイキング時の昼食用にサンドイッチを作って持ちだしている人も見かけた。 バスタブの無いシャワーのみの部屋を取ったが、地下にプールとサウナがあるので問題ない。ただし、水着を1枚持ってゆく必要がある。　水着さえあれば、あとはスリッパとバスローブで部屋から地下まで行くのは普通のこととのフロントの説明があった。　モンブランの朝焼けが綺麗だった。

ホテル自体は重厚でクラシカルな雰囲気ですが、私たちが泊まったのは最上階で、まるで山の別荘のようなすてきなしつらえでした。天窓の近くに登って本など読めるようになっていて遊び心をくすぐられます。その窓からのぞくとモンブランが見えます。シャワーブースとは別にベッドの横にジャグジーがあって天窓から星が見えます。山歩きで疲れた身体をジャグジーでゆっくりほぐせました。私たちは3人だったので一人はソファーベッドでしたが、ダブルベッドの大きさで寝心地も快適でした。このへやは4人でも十分な広さでした。支配人も従業員もみな親切でまた泊まりたいホテルです。

観光スポットへの移動が便利なうえに、ホテルの中も快適です。ホテルの職員の対応も良く、旅先での滞在の相談にも快くのってくれます。素晴らしい滞在ができました。

新婚旅行でスイスを訪れるに合わせ、こちらフランスシャモニにも足を延ばし、モンブランを観に行きました。 11時頃にホテルに到着したところ、翌日は天候が良くなく、今日のうちに展望台エギーユデュ・ミディに行きたいのであれば、行った方が良いとのアドバイスを受けました。 展望台に上がったところ、雲に覆われ、かすかな雲の切れ間から山頂を拝めました。 ホテルに戻り、チェックインしたところ、事前に新婚旅行である旨を伝えていたため、 シャンパンとスイーツ、フルーツ盛り合わせが用意された、川に面した部屋でした。 妻も非常に喜んでいました。 翌朝はフロントのホテルマンの言っていたとおり、雨、 列車の発車時間までプールで泳ぎ、ゆっくりしました。 水道水のプールで若干冷たかったのですが、温水もあり、両方楽しみました。 町の中心に位置し、食事等にも出かけやすく、便利でした。

Perfect hotel in central location but in need of a renovation and a breakfast upgrade.

Every expectation was exceeded. Located on a rue pietonne made it convenient to “go out and about” Highly recommend this hotel

Great location, clean room friendly staff

This was a beautiful hotel and the staff was excellent! They gave us Great recommendations, took us anywhere we needed to go, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Chamonix.

We were robbed of over $25,000 in cash and jewelry from our hotel room as we were in the spa. Very conspicuous as we were robbed during the exact 45 minutes we were in the spa and only hotel staff knew we were going. No forced entry so a room access card was used. To add to the situation, the hotel has no security cameras in any of the halls, elevator lobbies or general access areas. The hotel offered no assistance but only allowed us to check out early as we did not feel safe. The staff was only in denial saying it was “impossible”. This is the first time we have been robbed and was a terrible experience.

Things were so old in our room and so many deficiencies that we refused to stay and demanded our money back. The manager did finally agree to do a 100% refund but she was possibly playing games with us by saying Expedia didn’t allow her !!!

We can't say enough about the Grand Hotel Des Alpes. Centrally located in town, so made it easy to visit local shops and phenomenal restaurants (e.g. Atmosphere, Rose de Pont and Matafan, all highly recommended). Skiing to each of the 4 resorts was made easy through the hotels shuttle service. Picks you up at the hotel and drops you off at the slopes. Then returns you. Both to and from are on a schedule you decide. Staff was amazing. Little positives like sweets in the early afternoon and savory snacks in the late afternoon were a very nice surprise. We will always stay here when visiting Chamonix. Doug and Nadine

Highlight of our stay in Chamonix wonderful place. Nice hot tub. Incredible dining at the chefs dinner. Great place.

Excellent hotel, nice and clean. Staff were attentiveness, provided extras (nice little treat) when purchasing. Spa is open from 9am-9pm which again was good after a days walking the hills. Great location, right in the centre of Chamonix The street can be loud, (UTMB was being held the week we were there) however we were provided with ear plugs. Highly recommended a Mountain View, just stunning
