We stayed one night (Sunday) with our 14 year old and 11 year old. The hotel is pretty outdated and very dark inside and could do with a bit of a refurbishment (e.g. our basin was cracked), but my 14 year old still talked about the hotel a few days later - it he felt like he had gone back in time a little with lots of traditional attributes e.g. an actual key to our room. The rooms and space we had were huge and everything was clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and we slept well (I had seen some reviews it could be noisy at night). Modern windows have been put in which was lucky as at the time building work was happening on a site opposite and they started around 6am (though not loud enough to wake the boys up). We would happily stay there again, location was good and it had all we needed though appreciate its tired decor might not suit all.
