地図で見ると周りに何も目的になるものがなかったので心配したが、実際行ってみるととてもわかりやすく、しかも英国のカントリーサイドにふさわしい、すばらしい環境の所に建っていた。朝食をとった部屋の雰囲気も抜群で、日本では味わえない優雅な気持ちにさせられた。夕食はいつもバーで軽く飲み、スターターなどで十分で、この日もホテルの雰囲気のいいバーでのひとときを満喫できた。余り日本人は来ないそうだが、susiやtempuraのメニューがあった。シェフが日本で修業したことがあるので取り入れているとのことだった。

Tout est parfait dans l'organisation. Très bon accueil personnalisé. Chambres bien décorées et très confortables. Restaurant très agréable. Très bon chef. Jaccuzi et piscine très appréciables. Seule ombre au tableau : des résidents bruyants la nuit et tôt le matin avec des murs très fins et des portes qui font beaucoup de bruit ! Rez de chaussée à éviter. Hôtel de charme avec les promenades du parc national du Dartmoor à proximité.

The hotel needs air conditioning in all bedrooms as the rooms were too hot. There were no fridges in the bedrooms to keep water cold etc which was disappointing as we had to ask for glasses of ice to do this. Staff were exceptional and the spa and swimming pool were really good. A great location on the edge of Dartmoor with access to some great walks.

Had a lovely time, staff were great and the food was amazing. Room was hot because no A/C but the provided fans.

Really enjoyed our restful and calm stay in this hotel. All staff were super friendly and helpful in a very genuine and authentic way. Spa pool and steam room was nice as was sunbathing on the lawns and our local country lane walk for a bit of exercise. Perfect two night countryside break in oasis of calm

Lovely English country house with a beautiful garden located right on Dartmoor so it’s a great starting point for exploring the area (I explored by foot only). The highlight of the hotel is its elegant and luxurious spa. Fabulous breakfast served. Lovely dinner options at The Blue Tiger. Spacious room and very comfortable bed. I would happily return!

2 night stay in the middle of August. Ample parking, smooth check in process, up one floor in a small lift to our rather large room. Lovely decor and the fairly usual accompaniments found within the bathroom made for a welcoming experience. The bed was on the softer side for my liking but still comfortable to sleep on. The downside to the room was the lack of air conditioning. Overall a good room to pick. The grounds the hotel is situated are beautiful, during the sunny days we stayed there the building shone in all its glory with all staff members warm and welcoming. We visited the spa midway through our stay, we can’t comment on the treatments as we didn’t opt to have any this time round, the pool area was clean and well maintained. Now time for the showstopper. The in house dining experience at this establishment is nothing short of spectacular. Please make sure you plan and book at least one meal here, starting off in a lounge area just off of the main reception you’re given your menus, asked if you’d like some drinks and a small bowl of nibbles. It’s advisable to arrive in the lounge a little bit before the time you booked your table to allow you to make the most of the experience. Once ordered, you’re then escorted through to the dining room, which is well laid out and has an extraordinary view. Once at the table, enjoy the truly exquisite food! I apologise for not being able to single out individual members of staff, the staff we interacted with were incredible!

Really lovely helpful staff. We paid for an upgrade as initial room was small with view of flat roof. Upgraded to suite for an extra £50 for one night but smelt musty and far too hot. Guy on the desk was so friendly and helpful I didn’t have the heart to complain again.
