Fan in room was faulty and not usable. We were informed it would be replaced within an hour it was not. Room incredibly hot due to weather - unable to cool it. Basic hotel but was clean

Lovely hotel with friendly helpfull staff !

Very Nice hotel in historical building. Excellent breakfast. Free parking. Our room a bit too heated, not able to open window very much.

The hotel still looks great from the outside. The bar, lounges and reception looking modern and clean. But the room I had felt dated and in need of a fresh decoration. Wallpaper coming lose on the ceiling. Floorboards lose. Bathroom you could see sealant had been applied many times around the bath to stop leaks. I may be looking at the details to much, but newer hotels you do not see any repair jobs. Breakfast was great as well. Just needs some TLC in some of the bedrooms, to bring back to the high standard you expect from this hotel.

Duncan Bannatyne need to invest some of his wealth into this place, its old and tired. Stayed a few times just due to connivence of location. Rooms especially bathrooms need updating. Bedrooms are cold in winter and red hot summer. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Breakfast not too bad, they try and offer to upsell for an extra £10 for anything not on buffet (except they don't charge if you ask them to make poached eggs) having a free carpark helps, although it is small. One quirk they don't clean your room unless you request it doing - one to remember if staying a few nights.

A nice stay.

Beautiful period property with tall ceilings and all the usual lovely period features. Friendly, helpful staff. Hearty breakfast buffet every morning and evening meals were also very tasty. Stayed in an Executive Room which was very spacious, warm and well kitted out. Biscuits, coffee bags, tea and hot chocolate plus bottle wated provided in the rooms. Fast and efficient check-in and check-out. Would be very pleased to stay again if in the area. Thank you.

Very old building, cold room. Decor was dated, room was spacious. Conveniently located for city centre, but not worth the cost.

Very comfortable stay. Rooms clean and well appointed though not exactly spacious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast and restaurant serving evening meals every day.

Nice hotel but uncomfortable mattress

Very well presented hotel, excellent cleanliness and overall standard. Minor comment - bar overlit for relaxing evening drink.

Friendly staff, fairly clean. Charming hotel. Beds better than Im used to when traveling in the UK. A bit warm in the room, no Aircondition

Great staff, so helpful and friendly. Great breakfast, comfy room. The room was just quite hot and can only open window a fraction due to safety reasons (totally understandable) but no fan provided. Would happily stay here again though.
