Hotel was a little tired and worn but the staff were lovely and the food decent. Spa was ok but basic

Breakfast was very good. The site has 8 EV chargers on-site, 4x 50kW and 4x 22.1kW. Overall our stay was very pleasant, and I would definitely stay there again. Large swimming pool, sauna (not working during our stay), steam room, and jacuzzi. Very popular with golfers. However, the hotel could do with some refurbishment as some areas are starting to get somewhat shabby.

Rooms and hotel looks tired , no fans in the rooms and non available, very very poor internet signal, bfast no coffee machine was broken and 10 mins late coming out .

Amazing staff, some of the nicest and most helpful l have ever come across. Not a four star. No air con or fridge in rooms.

All ok but the television in our room 117 was very small we found it difficult to read any thing like quiz questions ect.

We booked this hotel as it is advertised as a spa and golf resort. We expected it to be good to great. But when we arrived we could see immediately it has fallen into disrepair. The entrance was not inviting at all. The staff greeted us, but we didn't know as they just had regular clothes on. No uniform nor smartness at all. They gave us the room key which was on the 1st floor. Room 207. We opened the door and were met with a fusty smell. The carpet was literally thread bare in multiple areas, (they tried to hide a patch with a table), and the carpet was very grubby, which is where the smell came from, because when you sat on the bed the smell got worse. The velux windows were disgustingly filthy, and we really didn't want to open them. But due to the hot weather we had too. But when we did, insects fell into the room. Some of which were still alive, so we had to catch and remove them. The beds were tired and so were the pillows. One of which could not really be called a pillow, more of a pillow case. The safe did not work as it was locked and would not accept any new codes, and when we tried to contact reception, they were never there. The bathroom was nice and clean and the shower worked nicely. However, don't think you'll get dry on the towels, as they were that thin and thread bare, they didn't absorb anything. Breakfast was just OK with flies everywhere on uncovered food and fruit.. The only drinks machine was rammed so queues were big. Only just 3 star at best.

Room good and reception too. Breakfast. staff were awful! No greeting, slouched around, were not clearing tables in readiness for guests, laying cutlery on dirty tables, taking their time, hanging around chatting in groups of 3, had to ask for tea bags as none available, when I eventually found someone as staff went missing!! She plonked down the bowl of teabags, no apology or comment, I said thank you. There were no bowls for cereals, again no staff in site, eventually I saw a staff member and asked her for bowls. She brought out 3 bowls but there were other people wanting a bowl!! Then I discovered no milk in jug, so had to wait again for her to come back out of kitchen I presume to ask for milk. The staff are young and probably needed some guidance. Apparently there was a new manager but I was told by reception that he was new and inexperienced too! The girls were working in an air conditioned room, so absolutely no excuse for their slowness. One girl cleared a table, then left tray of cutlery on clean table and went to bar, looked at her phone, had a glass of water and chatted there for a few minutes. Meanwhile guests were coming in and there was nowhere for them to sit at a clean table!! It was a Saturday morning and maybe the girls were students? Not sure they have been trained as waitresses at all! Also, no clearing of dirty plates on tables with people in during their breakfast was undertaken. Recommend you get someone to oversee the bad service?

Spa has been updated and looks lovely but rest of hotel definitely needs a facelift and good clean.

Clean rooms with everything you would expect in most hotels. Complimentary water in the room was welcomed especially as we stayed when temperatures were higher. Only upgrade that would be helpful is air-conditioning although we were lucky we had a cross draught with the window and balcony doors which helped hugely. All requests of staff even when it came to children's food requests (difficult eaters) were fulfilled. No requests were too big. The afternoon tea was lovely and definitely recommended. Spa area in terms of pool/jacuzzi were okay. To note unless you have a treatment booked you do not get given robes. So if you use the pool/jacuzzi you may want to take your own robes with you. This is something that could be improved for user experience as we didn't know that and it was a little embarrassing walking through the restaurant and past many rooms to get to the next floor up where our rooms were. Luckily we were a very large group so safety in numbers and all and we could laugh it off.

This is the worse hotel i’ve ever stayed in! There was a plate of beans and chips on a chair in one of the ‘lounge areas’ from the night we checked in (could have been there longer!) until the morning we left, which obviously was beginning to smell awful! The room was fine, it was clean, but awfully musty and stuffy. The ‘balcony’ was laughable, it was a small metal platform (think scaffolding) which we couldn’t access anyway because of the window lock. They did supply us with a fan, which sounded like a brick in a washing machine, but it took the edge off. Our room didn’t have cold water from the taps, only scalding hot water, which meant we couldn’t shower throughout the whole of our stay (without melting off our skin), which when we were staying to attend a wedding on the hottest day of the year was more than inconvenient. Because there was only boiling water, we had no access to drinking water, unfortunately the housekeeper never attended to our room so the bottles didn’t get replaced, which again in a heatwave was more than inconvenient. I tried drinking the boiling tap water and it tasted like sewage so don’t try that. The breakfast was not even worth approaching, they were running out of everything, but ‘they’ve asked the kitchen for more’, there is one coffee machine for the whole hotel, and no mugs provided, and when i asked for one i was given a sassy response about them being everywhere. It feels like it’s been abandoned by management… depressing.

It's in a nice area with nice views, the place was ok for 1 night, to be honest the place was pretty tired and could do with a revamp, the staff were pretty chatty, but that was amongst themselves, customers seem to be secondary.

Really Lovely experience at the hotel. Found the layout confusing and felt the leisure/spa staff could have been more friendly/welcoming. Otherwise it was an amazing place to stay!:)

Room was very dusty on skirting boards and in bathroom could do with a total sprig cleanup

The room was dirty, all around the edges were full and thick with dust and dirt, gravel and stones, cobwebs all over. TV remote batteries were dead. Room taken an age to find. Hotel shower and mixer was poor with temperature and pressure control. It was the most expensive hotel I’ve booked for 7 hour quick stay over and the most disappointed I’ve been in many hotels I’ve stayed at. Never again.

The room was clean and spacious, however, the staff were rude and unhelpful! The pool was dared and looked dirty, the ‘lifeguard’ sat on his phone whilst we were in the pool. I wouldn’t go back, especially for the price!
