I had a great stay!

A wonderful stay at this charming guest house. Our hosts Rich and Ada were very welcoming and gave us recommendations on places to eat and walks to enjoy in the local area. We had a tastefully decorated small double room which was spotless and although compact very comfortable with everything we needed including a mini fridge. Breakfasts were delicious, fantastic choices, beautifuly presented and fresh local ingredients. Lovely little garden at the back. Very easy walk to both Windermere proper and Bowness, ten mins each way. A lovely stay, we will return.

Wonderful stay. Rich and staff were especially responsive to my needs, going out of their way to help. Room 3 is fantastic and the breakfasts were superb. Try the salmon bagel! Will return.

Lovely place, lovely couple who run the B&B, great facilities, right in the middle of Windermere and Bowness so lots of things to do and see. Highly recommended

Rich was so helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The whole place is spotless I really don't know how he keeps everywhere so clean .Also the attention to detail, a fridge, fresh milk, good toiletries ,cotton buds etc I can't praise the place enough.

Great experience from start to end. Great goat. Comfy bed and superb breakfast. It’s limited in that you have to specify what time you want it which is within a specific window but that was fine for us. Enjoyed it and would return

Spent a lovely 3 nights here. Attention to detail in the room that made it comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was the highlight with lots of choice, including fresh, local produce with the cooked options and very friendly service. Would definitely stay here again :)

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect between two towns. The room was so lovely, so many personal touches which makes such a difference :) Rich has a list of recommendations and places to see which was very helpful. we also tried the spa facilities which were fantastic! The breakfast was the best, so many options to choose from and the set up was great. I would highly recommend this stay.

Lovely accommodation and great breakfast but the best thing about St. John's Lodge has to be the owners. Very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Rich and his team were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely and clean, great location - a tiny bit loud noise from the road but this could’ve been because it was Halloween :)

My 8 year old daughter and I loved our stay at St John’s Lodge. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was cosy and well maintained. The games in the guest lounge along with the honesty fridge were a great touch. The breakfast was amazing. Kept us going alll day. We will be back.

The property was within walking distance of Windermere and Bowness. The hotel was spotless as were the rooms with some lovely personal touches. The breakfast was amazing with a choice of 24 hot options, you just had to order by 6.30pm the night before. On top of that there was cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, yoghurt, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee - absolutely superb. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Lake District.

Fabulous property and extremely welcoming,helpful hosts. Everything you could need and more is provided. Amazing choice of breakfasts and absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The en-suite room was beautiful and large with large tv, wifi, fridge, comfy sofa. Everything so clean. The staff were very friendly and 10/10 for variety of breakfasts. We certainly will go again.
