It's an old hotel so the facilities are old and at times it felt like at was staying at my grandparents old place in the countryside, but it grew on me and the staff were friendly enough. Also the location was convenient for my conference at the Scottish Event Campus. It is a bit of a walk from the city center though. There is a grocery store and several restaurant nearby too. Great little take-away pizza parlor too.

Friendly staff, room was clean, however bedroom decor is dated but it’s the curtains that need addressed as they let the light in. Overall good value for money

Woke up surrounded by bedbugs, luckily I hadn’t unpacked yet, I took photos and video and physically brought one of the bugs to the front desk in a tissue. Asked for a full refund and to leave immediately as I’m terribly allergic and wasn’t willing to take chances unpacking in another room. Full refund was denied, even though I was in need of finding an immediate last minute hotel replacement. Missed my tours for the day. Desk denied the presence of bugs OF COURSE — They then threatened to fine/sue me if I published this honest review with photographic evidence. Absolutely horrifying, ruined my trip.

Great location but room furniture was quite shabby (and not in a chic way). Our room was on front of hotel overlooking main road and is single glazed so was quite noisy as well. I’d expect better for the £100 a night we paid…..

Was able to check in at 1:30. Had a good night's sleep and a good breakfast. Staff excellent.

There were lots of shops nearby.

Staff are so friendly and helpful just a short walk from city centre overall a very good hotel
