味のあるホテルです。1470年まで歴史を遡ることができるほてるとのこと。 床が傾いていたりしますので、完璧は求める方は避けた方が良いでしょう。でもシャワーの給湯やトイレの流れも全く問題ないし、街の中心にあるので街中のアクセスは便利です。

Very comfortable stay

Staff were friendly, and room was very nice... food was excellent.. Problem we had was in the heatwave we only had a small fan, which could not keep up with cooling the room, so was a very sweaty night... And the stairs to Room C2 was very steep, which was a problem for the wife with a not so good knee. Parking on the property was a bonus, but could get full very quickly..... Hotel is close to everywhere which was fantastic. We asked / booked for 2 nights, but seems Hotels.com somehow only booked us for 1 night, seeing as it was our 45th Anniversary, well that got spoilt as we had to leave..

Centrally located opposite of the cathedral

I have stayed at this hotel quite a number of times now. It is old and a bit quirky but I like that. The location in the center of town right opposite the cathedral could not be better. The rooms vary quite a lot from spacious to really small so knowing the rooms helps. On this trip I stayed twice on different dates and on the second stay had room C1 which is excellent and I would try to get again. The windows in the rooms are original and single paned so you do get some road noise in a lot of the rooms. However, C1 has newer windows and much less noise. Overall I will be staying again.

Great breakfast apart from the 'economy' grade fruit juice.

Centrally located in St. Albans. Old and rambling but adequate. The bars were closed due to a licensing issue. Sad.

It was an excellent room with excellent attentive staff throughout the stay. Clean and a lot of historic character that is well preserved.

The place is falling apart. "Old and classic" should not mean "dirty and dilapidated". Bathroom stank of mold, moldy dirty windows, threadbare curtains that let the light in, and a broken heater as there is no other heating in the freezing building.

Wasn’t informed that the hotels license hadn’t been renewed so we couldn’t get a drink

The bed was comfortable. The tea/coffee available in the room was good. It was very noisy because it's on a main road and the windows do nothing to reduce the noise. The building is very old so this was to be expected.

The room was OK, but not what I expected from previous stays. Because the shower door was stuck, we got a much better room, why were we not given that room in the first place!? The heater in the room was great. The second day the show only had lukewarm water. I mentioned this and it was fixed, but this was too late. The bar had no licence considering there were many of us staying, the must have lost a lot of money which would have been spent on food and drinks.

Amazing location, unique pub experience, good value. Mattress wasn't the best but the room was really quaint and clean.

Food was lovely but when we had meal in the restaurant Saturday night we was not told until we sat down and looked at menu we could only have soft drinks as their licence had not been renewed in time. We should have been told this on arrival Rooms were horrible. Lumpy bed and pillows and very small bathroom
