ロッジ風の室内の広いホテル。レストランはオープンエアーで開放感がある。朝食はビュッフェスタイル、夕食は日替わりの固定メニューのようだ。レストランの周りにフィーダーがあり、野鳥や動物も訪れる。wifiのつながりが悪いのが難点。

We absolutely loved staying at Cerro lodge. We were staying in this area of Costa Rica for a few days to see Scarlet Macaws and other birds. After arriving in the afternoon, we saw macaws, a motmot and howler monkeys in the trees right next to the restaurant from their deck. Loved eating meals or just having drinks on that deck as we were always seeing something. Meals were delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have air conditioning. There is a trail on the property to walk around. The pool is wonderful. The staff is so helpful and friendly. They arranged a boat tour to see crocodiles and shore birds which was a great tour.

I loved our stay. The only reason we gave the resort four stars instead of five is because the room simple but clean. The hotel is rustic, but if you want to see wildlife, there is nothing better. Troops of Howler monkeys fill the trees above. Birds are continually chattering and screeching to one another. Just sitting at the restaurant, you will see more animals than walking for hours at the national park The food at the restaurant was excellent. I particularly enjoyed their award-winning pizza. I would definitely go back again. Great value for the experience.

Wonderful place full of macaws and howlers - outstanding pizza - excellent breakfast but the very very very best thing is the wonderful staff - so kind and helpful

The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The scarlet macaws and howler monkeys were so fun to watch in the morning right outside of our rooms! The food was delicious, especially the pizzas. I would highly recommend this hotel! Unless you’re at Carara National park at dusk or dawn, you’re going to see way more parrots at this hotel.

Spacious and clean room, shower hot water worked a bit awkward. Great to have air conditioner. Restaurant has good food but a bot on the pricy side.

Wonderful staff. Convience of a restaurant. Excellent breakfast and pizza. Had a pool. Excellent birds around and we heard monkeys most of the night and finally got to see them at sunrise. Definitely off the beaten path.

Second visit to Hotel Cerro Lodge and it was as magical as the first visit. If you love nature and birds and don't mind a bit of rustic, this is the place for you. The huge, covered patio overlooking the forest is so comfortable. I've done my work job from that patio both visits and just relaxed with my camera at the ready, waiting for the birds, or iguanas, or monkeys, or any number of other creatures to appear. Huge shout out to Jessica, Jeremy, and Erica who served us well at reception and during breakfast and dinner. Speaking of breakfast/dinner, wow do they have a couple of talented chefs in their kitchen. Highly recommend the Ragu pasta in meat sauce. Favorite dish of the trip and it is served in a freshly baked, warm, and yummy bread bowl. Very easy to access from San Jose and lots to do in the area.

Hotel Cerro Lodge Oh dear…I had a whole ecosystem in my room, and not in a good way. Constantly had medium-large ants coming into my room from the bathroom. Look - I know it’s Costa Rica, and I can handle some ants, but we’re talking about having to step on 30+ ants over the course of two days. The whole room felt like zero money has been put into it to maintain / upkeep the property. Wifi in the room was extremely slow (I ended up just using cellular data instead). Air conditioning worked well though. For the birders looking at this review, I’d recommend staying at the Tarcoles Birding Lodge next door. The best birding is done on the entrance road to Hotel Cerro Lodge and Tarcoles Birdig Lodge, so you don’t miss anything bird-wise by staying at TBL. Also, one of my birding guides said that TBL was apparently opened by a former Cerro Lodge employee. So make of that what you will

We loved seeing all the wildlife at this hotel. There were monkeys in the trees and we saw Scarlet Macaws.

Wonderful lodge! Liked it so much we rearranged our itinerary to come back for another night. Super quiet & scenic. Really enjoyed the pool, deck, restaurant, and seeing birds, monkeys and iguanas. Arrived too late for pizza the first night, but stayed to have it for lunch and it truly was delicious. However, learned later that Costa Rica’s ban on feeding wildlife extends to private property and bird feeders, so it would better not to feed the birds at all, or at least farther from the deck so macaws don’t swoop in for human breakfast food.

Staff are very friendly. Location excellent. The room is clean and comfortable.

Les commentaires élogieux nous ont convaincus de réserver cet hôtel. Nous avons été déçus du début a la fin... Accueil à la réception moyen, pizza pas si excellente que le disent les avis (perso, jamais mangé de pizza avec trottoirs aussi larges et si peu garnie en Italie !). Chambre spartiate avec rideaux trop fins pour faire l'obscurité dans la chambre (résultat: les guirlandes situées face aux logements éclairent les chambres toute la nuit). Et pdj très très ordinaire à 17 dollars (pas les 10€ annoncés sur le site expedia). Seul plus : la piscine, très agréable, et la vue du restau.

Very friendly staff, especially Jessica at the reception area. Not many vegan options on the menu, but they are willing to make some vegan (Vegana) food for us to take for our morning bird walk. Only complaint was that it was noisy with the leaves/branches hitting the roof.

Mycket god pizza på restaurangen. Trevlig personal och frukosten var oxå god. Roligt att de matade fåglarna så att man kunde se dem på nära håll.
