This hotel is ideally situated on the outskirts of Carcassonne and it is a short trip into the old city. However, the turning off the main road is somewhat sudden and a bit dangerous. We stayed 3 nights in early September, so just off the main season. The reception staff were lovely and very welcoming. In fact, they couldn’t be more helpful. The hotel itself was a bit tired and in need of a little updating. Our room was spacious and clean but some items of furniture were in need of repair and the WC door handle kept falling off! However, we had good views over the pool and we slept very well. On our first night we eat at the Bistro which we felt was very good value. We had the second night in the main restaurant which was expensive but very nice. A very good selection of wines. We enjoyed our stay but having been to other Relais and Chateau Hotels (Alsace especially) we were a little disappointed that it was not quite as luxurious as we had expected.
