Stay was lovely check in easy except for the friendly man on the desk he was nice but felt the need to tell us all about his life which was nothing to do with us. Plus think you meed lights as you leave main building to go to rooms steps are dangerous as you cant see them.

Lovely place in very pretty village next to the river.

Dated but very clean. Staff polite helpful and friendly. Lovely views over the lake where i had a drink.The hourly chiming of the church opposite didnt bother me.great price and the breakfast was nice.

Such a lovely old hotel. Loved the location and room leading out onto a terrace overlooking the water. Breakfast was nice and freshly cooked. Free parking was a bonus Will definitely stay again.

Lovely old hotel by the river. I work nearby so just needed somewhere to sleep. The single room and bed where both a decent size. Mattress was very firm. The hotel was really quiet and parking was easy, so no complaints. Will definitely stay again

There was an initial mix-up with my booking which was quickly sorted out. The location is superb for walking. Not many good local dining options within walkable distance but the hotel restaurant has a good range in the menu. The cooked breakfasts were very nice.

I have had the most awful experience that l have ever had at this hotel. On day two of my stay l was told to leave because my dog had entered the room to have a drink of water despite your listing stating clearly that service dogs are allowed which he is. The manager harrassed me relentlessly and repeatedly refused to tell me why l was being told to leave when according to the listing my dog was allowed to be there. This was so intense that it brought on a panic attack and l had to call my son from work to come immediately to assist me with my attack. I have now received a message via your booking site stating that l am barred from staying there. This is nothing less than blatant discrimination !!

I found the property difficult to find.There was little or no parking in the area.The hotel itself seemed efficient but they were very busy due to evening parties.

Had a great stay! Very charming and lovely staff. Nice clean room and large dining menu.

Really nice old hotel. We loved the view over the water and stepping out of our room to feed the ducks. The chef was off on our first night but there were plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance.

Lovely quiet location. Everything here whilst on a working trip: Food, bar, free parking. Very pleasant stay.

No handle for hot water and hairs in the bath. The kettle didn't work so I was moved to another room adjacent the building. The room had river view. Two long windows at the top, none of them could close, one of the handles was broken but the curtain was thick and there was a big radiator so I didn't bother again to complain. Extremely dirty around the windows. I could hear all what a woman was talking in the next room. Paper thin walls. Full english breakfast was good. Saturday morning the bread was a bit dried as it would have been in the basket for long time but as I put it in the toaster I didn't ask for another one. On Sunday the bread looked fresher. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. Next time I definitely will spend a little bit more of money and not trying to save in a cheap hotel.Staff was fine and the cleaning lady was very nice and friendly. You get what you pay! Good luck!

Good sized room, comfy bed, river view, close to local.shops, shower curtain dirty, kettle lid pops open when boiling-safety hazard! No communications with staff other than check in which was fast but not the most welcoming, 'how was your journey' 'come far?' Customer service make your customers feel welcomed. But otherwise nice hotel would stay again

Cheap and cheerful chalet- style rooms right beside the river. Decor a little tired and dated but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay ahead of an early Heathrow departure.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The staff are really courteous and helpful. The dining experience was good. Since we last stayed the establishment has been refurbished and now looks really comfortable and inviting.

Hotel is a bit dated but room was very clean, bathroom spotless and beds very comfy. Good value for what was paid.

It’s always a lovely hotel to stay in. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I’ll definitely be staying again.
