Hotel was clean and staff was friendly

The area and the town

Only thing that was bad was the carpet was filthy.

The dining area was filled with other guest who were all together and did not provide anyone else to sit in the dining area and enjoy. They were talking very loud and took over the area. We had to take it back to our room. Not enjoyable if we can’t get the full experience.

Very little toiletries (a bar of soap) and beds were not comfortable.

Clean, cool and quiet

Property was super clean and acclimations were very nice. They had a decent breakfast offering. One block off Center Street.

Title: Clean Rooms but Deeply Unsafe Experience – Very Disappointed I stayed at the Best Western in Taft, California from June 13–16 with my husband and two children. We came in from Nebraska and arrived early on the 13th. While we couldn’t check in early (which is understandable), we were still looking forward to a comfortable stay. The room itself was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. However, what happened the night of June 14 was deeply upsetting and unacceptable. After a full day at Six Flags and Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, we came back to the hotel and got the kids settled into bed. My husband and I went outside for a quick cigarette when a police car dropped off a visibly intoxicated man right at the front entrance of the hotel. He approached us saying he had nowhere to stay, no ID, no money that worked, and asked us to rent him a room with cash. When we declined, he became aggressive, used foul language, and said he was going to “get his gun.” He started rummaging through his bag, and fearing for our kids’ safety, we ran to our room and called 911. Thankfully, he didn’t have a gun—but the threat was very real in the moment. Even more disturbing, the man was allowed to stay in the hotel lobby overnight and was still there in the morning, sleeping on the couch. When we asked the front desk about it, they told us the incident was never documented, and he shouldn’t have been allowed to stay there. The lack of response from hotel staff and their disregard f

Desk personnel were great. Breakfast was as expected. We weren't at the hotel much. We were out visiting family.

Taft is a old quiet town... was very relaxing after long day drive. Staff.was amazing and property was immaculate

My wife was raised in Taft, and we've traveled there quite a few times for school reunions and "Oildorado" events. This Best Western was built and opened since our last visit, and is by far superior to any other lodging we have experienced. The facility still has a new look and feel, and the staff with whom we dealt were all helpful and friendly. It did seem to be somewhat under-staffed. Front desk staff, for example, were occupied with other tasks at other places, and the breakfast room was out of certain items. No great deal that, since the breakfast food was horrible. And the area around the BW is, well ... Taft. Oil towns aren't often pretty, and Taft is definitely an oil town.

room is very nice, very quiet area, very modern looking, clean room, was here for 1 night - did not have a chance to take part in use of other facility amendments - was happy with my stay
