They cancelled our spa reservation 2 hours beforehand for "an emergency" where the front staff was unaware and people were still seen coming out of the spa. The room key they gave us was bent and it was difficult to enter the room without getting help. The toilet didn't flush correctly, if at all, and just about flooded. After being annoyed with the spa, key, and toilet ~ we sat on the bed and found random long hairs! That was the final straw before asking for a new room. They eventually accommodated, but with not even an apology and apparent annoyance. Food at the restuarant was delicious and decent pricing. We were told no reservation was necessary, but when we got there they said all tables were booked so we ended up eating in the bar. I really wanted to make this destination an annual tradition, but instead will likely never stay there again. Bummer! Amenities are dated and sparse. Coffee was blaring red for descaling. Price was $400+. Do better Sun Mountain Lodge!

This is a lovely lodge that needs updates.

The dining experience was less than awesome. We had a food allergy and express that to the waiter yet they did not follow through and we ended up eating something that made my friend very sick. They also didn’t service our food at the same time so that we could eat dinner together that was a huge bummer And very scary. The view is absolutely gorgeous and the wranglers and the horses were absolutely fantastic. The massage therapist was stupendous, but the buildings needed a lot of TLC. The reception staff was not friendly at check-in and seemed irritated when we had basic questions.

Everything was wonderful. It is a beautiful property. Great room, only drawback was we had to cancel 1 night and didn’t realize the only way to cancel with a refund was to cancel 21 day ahead. Very expensive and inconvenient.

Beautiful location and the staff was wonderful. The building needs some major upkeep and renovations. I wouldn't walk barefoot on the old wooden decking. Lots of screw heads popping up too in various places. Our stay was wonderful. The food was very good.

The rolling hill views are great. The lodge deco is wonderful. The bar people we very accommodating. The only down side is no TVs in the rooms. I understand the intent is to be away from the daily grind.

Always Ike the property. Breakfast was fine/slow-but had dinner in the bar, staff was good - but food was average at best. Expect better food considering the cost to stay there. Had the ribeye- steak was fatty and tough, potatoes were cold.

Wonderful lodge with extremely helpful staff members! Our room view of the mountains was spectacular, especially in the morning. Thanks for a great stay!

The property had great views and the kids enjoyed the game room. It was a relaxing two days

It is luxurious, especially in comparison to the other options in the area, and it’s set in a secluded area atop a mountain, offering long distance views of sky and mountains.

Sun Mountain Lodge was a great place to stay for one night. Would love to come back in the winter.

Beautiful location

There were problems. No tv, the fireplace did not work and they were not able to fix it. Took it apart but left it that way. Lock on door to balcony was hard to open because the screws were loose. The toilet had problems due to their design to save water but when it was fixed they caused and left a mess. Dirty grout in the shower. Towels like sand paper. Missing light in bathroom. It was not the best experience. The site and the view and staff was wonderful. But more attention to details.

Beautiful setting. Amazing views. The room was nice, No TV and no fans in the bathroom. Our restaurant experience was horrible! We ended up having to eat popcorn and leftover roadtrip snacks in our room. We waited 40 minutes before anyone came to our table. After we finally received water and menus, we talked to fellow diners next to us that had waited over 2 hours to get their food, and their orders came messed up. So we decided to not waste our money or time, and unfortunately every other dining option down in town had closed for the night :( The hot tub at the main lodge was a cold tub our entire stay, which was massively disappointing. We also thought we could order drinks from the bar from the pool area, but no one from the restaurant was around to take orders. Our girls trip was still fun, but we were counting on good food from right there at the lodge, a hot tub and watching some late night TV…definitely didn’t hit those marks.

Excellent stay Good was just ok

Amazing place, in the middle of the mountains, with modern equipments. BUT, if you intend to sleep early (before 11pm), watch out NOT to get a room on the pool and fire pit side which is lately very noisy. Was impossible to sleep from 9 to 11pm, and it was a week day...We asked for a quiet room and where on the 3rd floor which was so noisy. We can't imagine what could it be on the 1st or 2nd !

Beautiful views , tons to do, great family stay

We have been coming to Sun Mountain Lodge for over 40 years. Has been one of our favorite places. Unfortunately, service has declined lately, including the food quality (found rabbit skin and bones in a “beef broth”) and allowing large non-service dogs (husky) free rein in much of the hotel.
