lovely cottage Could not fault this property

This was the second time we have stayed at the Duke William Hotel and it was as good as it was the first time. Situated in an ideal location within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, the cathedral, castle and also Steep Hill, which leads down to even more in the centre. Property is set in a gorgeous old building and is spotlessly clean with room service every day. Breakfast choices have to be made the evening before with some unusual dishes you don’t see on many menus, as well as the standard offerings. We also ate in the restaurant one evening which was also very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside the bedrooms do get very warm, although this time two fans were provided due to visiting in the middle of a heatwave, and depending on which room you choose there can be noise early morning from the kitchen. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Ideally placed for an event at Lincoln Castle. The food was excellent, we had breakfast and our evening meal at the hotel, all of which were great. The room was clean and spacious. Only problem we had was with the room temperature. We were there during a summer heatwave and the room was uncomfortably hot. It was equipped with a desk fan which did help but was noisy. Overall, great, just an unfortunate timing with the heat that we couldn’t do anything about.

Hotel was well situated and staff were more than helpful. WiFi not so good as couldn’t log on.

Beautiful hotel full of character and perfectly placed for visiting the castle and cathedral. Great breakfast and a little cookie treat in the room. Room was lovely!

Easy booking in on arrival, staff very helpful and explained how things work. Great size room with fans supplied already in the room. Breakfast was great and exactly what we ordered. Overall a great stay

Thai is a beautiful historic hotel right on the Bailgate, so close to the cathedral and other sites. The pub below is very quaint and enjoyable. The included breakfast was very good and a big selection for all tastes. The in room amenities, like coffee and water were great! Our only complaint would be the pillows. They were all rock hard and lumpy, even the one softer one. Better quality pillows would take this place up a notch for a boutique hotel.

The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk from the cathedral and surrounded by pubs and restaurants. The breakfast was also very nice.

Loved our stay at the Duke William, felt like a proper mini break. The breakfast was so delicious and the staff were so friendly. The beds were massive and v comfy. We loved it!

We really enjoyed staying at The Duke Williams. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the included breakfast was delightful (really loved the blueberry pancakes!), and we loved how close it was to the Cathedral and castle. We also appreciated the sound-proofing of the room and the natural light through the windows. The only thing that was tough for us was the mattress. Combined with the heat wave and no air conditioning, it made for a tough sleep unfortunately. The room did come with standing fans, but even at their highest power and the window cracked open, it couldn’t combat the heat. We would definitely stay here again, but hope that the bed would be made a bit more comfortable and that some stronger fans would be offered.

Parking is difficult as restaurant guests park in same lot. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Well stocked bar. Have used the parking on previous stays and it is a great addition in Lincoln. Stayed in one of the cottages this time. Superbly equipped, clean, tidy and great facilities. All basics supplied… tea, coffee, sugar, milk, jug of water and milk in the fridge and complementary biscuits. Fully equipped kitchen if you don’t want to eat out. Would highly recommend this for a family or group of friends.

Hotel located in the heart of old Lincoln. Short walk to Lincoln Cathedral. Food was good and the staff were friendly.

A pub with rooms is a better description rather than hotel, staff great and well situated for cathedral and castle. No overnight staff on site, breakfast had to be booked night before. Good parking and safe area.

Great Hotel right in the heart of Lincoln, very oldy worldly but with some modern touches, free car park on site was great and the staff were friendly. The food and drink were very good too. Would definitely recommend and will return at a later date!! 😊

This property is beautiful and very handy if you are going to an event at the assembly rooms (which we were) Staff were lovely. When we arrived there were no free parking spaces, so one of the staff moved their own car for us. The cottage is spotless, the beds super comfy, and we had a little outdoor spot of our own adjacent to the pubs beer garden. It really is a gem. When I booked it was for a twin and a double - I should have checked this before we arrived as it was actually two doubles. I have no doubt the staff would have rectified this if I'd have asked, (because you can split the beds) but I didn't mind sharing with my friend so I didn't ask. The wifi didn't work, but we didn't need it so again didn't ask for assistance which I'm sure we'd have been given had we asked. And just one suggestion - I would have a strip of reflective tape on the step in the bathroom which is quite deep and no so safe during night time visits! I found it oddly quiet as well for a Saturday night. With the exception of a few noisy revellers walking past at about 1am - very peaceful. Honestly though we were so chuffed at getting this adorable cottage and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We had breakfast in the pub the next morning, and couldn't fault that either. Very much would return.
