Misleading bathroom information and zero responsibility from Hotels.com
The listing on Hotels.com stated “private or shared bathroom”, which clearly implies that the guest will either be assigned one or can request a private bathroom. Based on this wording, I booked the room with the expectation of having a private bathroom, as any reasonable person would.
However, upon arrival I was placed in a shared bathroom setup without any option to change, and Hotels.com later dismissed the issue entirely by blaming the hotel — even though they were the ones who presented the information in a misleading way.
In addition to that, the overall condition of the room was unacceptable:
- Mould in the shower
- Dirty dishes and stains left behind
- No toilet paper or paper towels
- Random items lying around as if the room was half storage
- Door lock constantly malfunctioning
No one at the hotel spoke Swedish or English when approached, making it impossible to report or resolve anything on-site.
Hotels.com should not advertise rooms in a way that creates false expectations and then refuse accountability.
I did not receive what I paid for, and I would strongly discourage others from booking this property.
