I’m not a fan of these self service hotels. This place is the equivalent of bagging and operating the register at a grocery store. While that might be convenient for some it makes no sense to pay a premium the amenities are lacking here. They relied on the quality of the materials to much and while it’s very nice it’s not worth it in my opinion. This place makes perfect sense for a business visit. But on a vacation going to a place with no proper check in or a staff that would provide the normal hotel luxury’s feels like I was cheated.

Public was the most underwhelming experience for the price point it was a below average experience and far from a great experience and the top it off we had no water in the building for 1 night.

It was exactly what I wanted. Spacious, clean with a. Nice view. Service was 5 star.

Overall a nice upscale feeling hotel with a comfortable bed, nice shower, clean room, good food/drink options onsite and in a great location in east village. Though it’s hard to pay $1000 for two nights midweek where the guest has to do all the work needed to check in and check out since there isn’t a human to do this for you. We did the self check in early and it said they would call when our room was ready. No call. No person to say that each floor has ice and water and extra towels. I had to ask the bar back. No one to help with luggage (didn’t need help but an older person might). So yes it is a nice hotel and feels hip and modern but should we remove all humans from the equation when we’re paying for SERVICE? Plus no coffee in room so how about keeping the free coffee going past 8am?

The hotel was very nice and we were able to check in early on the day of our arrival. The tv was not working (could have been user error) but otherwise it was great, we were not in the room very long during the day. The water/ice dispensers are very nice and convenient. The rooftop was great to check out! Walkable and easy access to subway. Great location to explore NYC!

Hotel ist vom Design und der Lage weiterhin super. Es muss einem aber bewusst sein, dass das Hotel quasi servicelos geführt wird (außer Zimmerreinigung).

Nice property and clean stay. The only downside that they don’t tell you about is that there’s a club upstairs, downstairs and 2 bars and on Saturday nights it’s jam packed outside and gets super loud.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooftop is undeniably cool, but don’t expect any VIP treatment—even if you’re a hotel guest. Drinks are seriously overpriced (my boyfriend paid $36 USD for a non-alcoholic drink just because it had Red Bull in it). The staff wasn’t particularly courteous either; when we asked for help with our luggage upon check-out, we were told it’s a “self-serve” hotel. Basic essentials were lacking—no body lotion, bathrobes, or slippers. The person at front desk told me that I could go buy them at the Whole Foods next door… for a $500 USD a night you would expect the BASICS. We repeatedly asked for extra towels and never received them, leaving us stuck with cold, damp ones. While the hotel has a fun, party vibe on weekends, it also attracted some sketchy locals wandering around the property. There was zero visible security, and at times, I felt unsafe. We booked this hotel hoping for a similar experience to the Edition in Miami, but this fell short. It’s definitely a young, buzzing scene, but the quality doesn’t justify the high price point. Even a three-star hotel offers body lotion!!
