Easy and quick check in (dropped bags off at the hotel before going to park elsewhere). The room was very warm (the bathroom was so hot) and we had to ask someone to help us turn down the temperature as we tried and it didn't seem to be making a difference. This was done by a staff member but the rooms definitely retain a lot of heat. Breakfast was very good quality but I asked for poached eggs to be subbed for fried or scrambled and this was not possible. I wasn't offered an alternate option either. Given there were only 3 other people in the restaurant (aside from me and my partner) and the nights stay cost just under £200 I did think the hotel could've been more accommodating. Good location but cost is probably too high for what you get at the hotel

Lovely room, exactly as advertised. Clean, spacious, lovely shower room. Breakfast was absolutely exceptional: perfectly poached eggs accompanied by 4 types of meat, tomatoes & mushrooms. Kind helpful staff. I will definitely return.

very picturesque inn, rooms over the dining hall. The place was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom recently renovated. the room was very quiet at night. The staff was amenable, the breakfast plentiful. This place is well situated close to the train station

Brilliant little hotel with equally brilliant staff

The staff are fantastic, along with the property and restaurant. Everyone was welcoming and really took the time to connect with the guests. Dinner in the restaurant was also 11 out of 10.

We had two rooms at this boutique hotel for one night. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant and that was an excellent decision. The cleanest hotel that we have stayed at and everything about this property and the food was exceptional. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel at home, especially Mariana who made sure all went well.

Amazing, welcoming, friendly staff. Large, well-appointed room. Great food in the pub. Two minutes from the train station and busses on a quiet, residential street, and just about a 10-15 minute walk to the main area of Oxford. Great experience all around.

Very nice property which located just outside town so very quiet, still less than a 5 minute walk from the station though. Staff were very friendly and room was very pleasant. Breakfast options were different from a usual hotel which made a nice change, the only place in England I’ve seen that gives you a piece of steak with your cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent two night stay at the Porterhouse Grill & Rooms! The staff were all so lovely and helpful! We didn’t eat there but had a nice drinks evening. Room was a good size & very open & bright. Would highly recommend!
