ホテルのレセプションがないので、チェックイン時間を予約時に伝えておかなければなりません。こちらは飛行機で来ること、便名、飛行機の到着時間、ホテルの到着時間予定を正しく伝えていたのに、ホテル側のミスでチェックインできませんでした。鍵がないとホテル内にも入れない仕組みなので、寒い中外で、いつ来るかわからないホテルの人を立って待たなければなりませんでした。Wi-fiもないのでこちらから連絡できず、近くのケーキ屋さんから連絡してもらったりしましたが連絡つかず、たまたまホテルに戻ってきた他の宿泊者の方が中に入れてくれたので、やっと暖かいところで座ることができました。そして、その宿泊者の方が何度も連絡をしてくれてやっと繋がり、ホテルの人は私との予約時間は夜だから、美術の展覧会にいると言っていたそうです。やっとホテルの人が来ても、自分は違う時間を知らされていた、自分のミスではないということを主張されました。こちらが怒ったら謝罪されたものの、こちらがいつ人が来るかわからない不安の中、大荷物もあるのでどこかに行くこともできず、座ることもできず、寒い外で待たされたことに変わりはないので、ミスは誰でもあるにせよ、それに自分が関わっていなかったとしても、まずはそこで働くホテルの一員として謝罪して欲しかったです。私たちの状況を考慮されず、私たちの身になって全然考えてくれてないと感じました。自分のミスでなければ客がどれだけ被害を被ろうが知らないという態度は海外では初めてではないですが、毎回プロフェッショナルじゃないなと思います。ロングフライトの後だからとても疲れていたし、旅行の予定も狂ったので最悪な始まりでした。しかも、そのやりとりの途中にネズミが1匹出てゾッとしました。ホテルの人は、ここには猫もいるし今までネズミなんて見たことがないと言ってましたが…そのあとネズミは見なかったし、お部屋も素敵で清潔に保たれていましたが、夜寝てる時などネズミが出ないか不安で、食べ物などは全てしまい込みました。 朝食は毎朝9時頃に部屋に運んでくれます。毎日変わって美味しかったです。 ホテルは見つけづらいですが、中央駅から徒歩15分くらいでいけます。それまでの石畳がスーツケースでの移動が大変だったのと、ホテルが言っているように、中はすごく急な狭い階段があるので、スーツケースは手伝ってもらわなければ運べませんでした。 夜は街灯が少なく、結構暗いです。17時頃には暗くなり、出歩くのは怖いので、遅くまで観光はしませんでした。近くでパーティーがあったのか、1日だけ夜中の2時くらいまですごい騒音でしたが、他の日はまぁ許容範囲でした。 総合的には、ホテルのチェックインの問題とネズミを見なければ良いホテルだったと思うので、とても残念です。 ここは宿泊者用の部屋が2部屋しかないのに、重要なチェックインの時間にミスがあったのはどうかと思うし、チェックインの時間に合わせて自分たちのスケジュールを組むらしいので、もし、飛行機が遅延するなど、やむを得なくチェックイン時間を変更しなければならなくなり、できるだけ早く連絡しても、果たして対応してくれるか謎だと思いました。今回もいろんな人が何度も連絡してくれたけど、連絡がつくのに時間がかかったし、私が飛行機の便名と飛行機の到着時間を伝えていたのに、すごく遅いチェックインにされていたし、飛行機の便名を伝えておいたところで、宿泊者の乗る飛行機の遅延情報など確認して臨機応変な対応をしてくれることはなさそうだなと思いました。

Room was very comfortable with coffee snacks etc and mini frig. Quiet room. Great location to walk to local sites. Typical steep stairs so pack light. Host was wonderful.

Beautiful room with a garden view. Kind host who let us drop off our bags extra early. Lots of little touches including snacks, drinks, coffee machine, tea pot. Great restaurant recommendations. Right in the middle of the central canal district, but super quiet room. Not a good place for anyone with mobility issues.

Our hosts were fantastic. The room was great and the location is just perfect for getting around the Canal Zone. Every old home in Amsterdam is going to have stairs. This place HAS stairs. All in all we had a wonderful time and I would absolutely stay with Wimmo and Godwin again.

We stayed at Barangay for my husband's 50th birthday. The staff was so kind to put a Happy Birthday banner on the wall of our room, and fulfill my request for stroopwafels on arrival! Edo carried our heaviest bags up the steep stairs, and the owner, Wimmo, made us feel like old friends, giving us a tour of the property, restaurant recommendations, and insights on what not to miss at the Saturday market. In addition to the excellent hospitality, both our room and bathroom were clean and quite large for a traditional Amsterdam home. We loved the tropical decor (Wimmo's exquisite taste shines throughout the property). A thoughtful breakfast basket was refreshed daily, and we appreciated that the room had a refrigerator, air conditioning, and a thermostat we could control. Every detail was carefully considered and provided for to ensure a comfortable stay: multiple luggage stands, wardrobe storage, a full-length mirror, spare toiletry items in case you forgot yours, a hairdryer, travel guides, and a curated book of information for your stay. There was a kitchen available for guests' use, and a bench out front for people watching or to enjoy a cigar. The only minor drawback we encountered was with the shower. Although the hot water was plentiful, the water pressure was strong, and it was equipped with both a rainfall shower head and a handheld attachment—the water would back up in the shower and leak out into the bathroom with each use. But even so, we will return!

It started with a great welcome. A lovely safe and comfortable stay. Great location with good restaurants etc in the heart of the canal district. 10 mins walk from the station. A great base to explore from. I’d definitely recommend for any couple and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Great host & great location.

Beautiful B&B in the heart of Amsterdam. The spacious rooms are designed with love, welcoming their guests with just that bit extra. Stunning view of the grachtenhuizen gardens. A must have Amsterdam experience.

This property has tons of Amsterdam character. It is located within walking distance of Amsterdam Centraal and within the tourist canal areas. The room was comfortable and clean. My favorite part was the owners. They were extremely helpful with travel tips and so nice! We enjoyed this stay immensely.

Very quaint and well sourced. Everything was thought of in detail and made to feel like home. Best location in Amsterdam. Hosts were gracious and accommodating. Loved it! Best place to stay and would again.

You cannot beat this location and the opportunity to stay in a beautiful 300 year home in the heart of Amsterdam. Extremely clean, comfortable, and warm and welcoming hosts. Can’t wait to return!

We were only in Amsterdam for under 24 hours before catching our flight, so we spent most of our time exploring the city and sadly didn't get to spend much time at the hotel. The time we did spend at the hotel was awesome. We were welcomed warmly and our room was ready even though we were a bit early. The room was very spacious compared to other hotels in Amsterdam and was very clean and well-appointed. We had everything we needed and slept really well. I highly recommend this place - it's well-located and full of charm. We will be back. Thank you!

Handy loaction about 10 minute walk to the centre, however still quiet and peaceful. Lovely friendly staff, and decent rooms. Stayed with my partner and another couple and we all enjoyed our stay. 4/5 would definitely recommend!

The whole experience was fantastic! The bed was comfortable, nice and warm and very easy to get to from airport! I would stay here again. The stairs are steep so bring small bags!

This is a wonderful place! It is within walking distance to the Amsterdam Centraal, restaurants and many attractions. The host is very thoughtful and friendly, providing snacks and drinks. Very comfortable bed. We had a great time.

My son and I had a lovely stay- the view from the room was amazing- morning red faced parakeets and view of the cot in the garden below really lovely. Loved that the bathroom was upstairs - all fixings really well considered and space well used- loved it
