Blissfully quiet. Plenty of lovely walks right from the door.

Lovely little independent cottage with every mod con that you could want. Although we didn't actually meet the owners, we had clear emailed/texted instructions. The location is really beautiful by the river in the woods.

I've never stayed somewhere so clean and tidy. It looks like it has only just been renovated and decorated. Tea, coffee, a little milk and some biscuits on arrival were a lovely touch. Note to other guests: The access track is not tarmaced with a few potholes (we would have been nervous bringing the Lotus along there) but it's ok in a normal car driven with respect. This does of course mean the location is really quiet. Husband was woken up by a woodpecker one morning and a pheasant another. No chance of any traffic noise. Cottage was warm despite plummeting temperatures during our stay. Power shower is amazing. About the only thing not provided is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Bed is comfy. High quality duvet, linen and towels. Biggest compliment - I would stay there again if in the area.

This is a fantastic little hide away!! All the mod-cons, beautiful, secluded and quite surroundings. The property is to the very highest of standards and for the nightly rate it is a true bargain not to missed. As a very frequent traveller the Rivers Rest is in my top 5!! Be it business or pleasure this place is a gem!! Absolutely recommended, you will not be disappointed!!
