The Hotel was quite Olde Worlde dated in places but to be expected given the age of the place,nice comfy bed,clean room, bar area lovely and the outside bar and marquee was excellent,The staff really nice and friendly nothing too much trouble for them,we stayed 2 nights with breakfast very very good portions we struggled a little was very tasty too,we always managed to park behind in the small car park hopefully will return soon.

We really enjoyed our stay with great food and very helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our visit. The only thing we could say is the bed in room 103 could do with replacing, quite uncomfortable. The bathroom should be updated, along with a new bed would make the room excellent. The food we found to very good and overall we will definitely recommend The Black Boys hotel, thank you.

We had a fabulous stay here, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and the food was out of this world. The only thing I would say is that the parking is a pub carpark and if does get quite busy

We moved room when we first arrived and chose a brighter room, all the staff were super helpful and so friendly, room was bright and spacious, very modern bathroom, breakfast was amazing, huge portions that we could barely finish, lovely lovely stay. Thank you to the team.

Stayed again at this lovely hotel for Easter, food was excellent, very friendly staff, love that they allow dogs, ideal location to explore other nearby places

Breakfast was excellent. Room was adequate, beverage tray had a biscuit added second day but a nice extra. Very dated I’d say, dirty clothes from previous occupant found in unit beside bed! Shower rose totally dislodged in bathroom so water came through the head not the holes, they were hanging down! Waitress from second night was very attentive second morning but staff did not make eye contact & were not friendly disappointedly so when travelling alone.

The hotel was ok considering its age our room was extremely noisy had no sleep for the two night's we stayed due to a busy road and the windows rattled so loudly the second night as there was a high wind we had to fill it with cardboard and tissue paper to try and dtop the rattle On the plus side the staff are lovely and the food great. The hotel is in a good position in the small town

Staff were friendly and professional. We were dealt with immediately and shown our room and given all relevant information. We ate our evening meal at the hotel and the food was exceptional, as was our breakfast the next day. Would definitely recommend.

The room was warm and clean, with a good shower en-suite. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional.

Room was lovely. Great view over market square Christmas lights. Food was amazing as usual and staff are great. Always friendly and helpful. We’ll be back next year!

The hotel room let down this rating as the bathroom underfloor heating did not work (so the room was very cold) and the towels were thin and only 2 v small shower gels provided. The bedroom was full of cobwebs and the mattress wasn’t of great quality. That said, the staff were lovely and the pub was nice. The food (breakfast) was great quality.

Very friendly welcome in to a busy pub. Rooms were good but it is a very old building so beware of uneven floors etc. the shower was not very powerful but everything else was good and I had a decent nights sleep. The breakfast was amazing. One of the best I have ever had. Didn’t have an evening meal but based on breakfast it would probably also be great, if a little expensive. Would happily stay again.
