Koh Mak itself is an island for serene getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of busy city like Bangkok. My wife and I stayed in Happy Koh Mak for 2 nights, and it was one of the best budget hotel for our island getaway. They have a super-fast internet so when it gets too hot outside, we can stay in our cozy room streaming movies together. When it gets cooler, we rent a motorbike from our super-friendly host, Alessandro. He even gave us some gasoline FOC, so we can have enough petrol to go around the island to find us some dinner. Also, they provide a clean 6-filter tap water, so we can squeeze in some budget for drinking water. And because of the motor bike, the location of Happy Koh Mak doesn’t seem to be a problem. Any way, we look for serene getaway so we don’t really have ambition to travel around the island haha.. Alessandro also helped us with arranging the snorkeling trip to Koh Rang with Zamzay boat trip. It was a very wonderful snorkeling experience, with scenic lunch spot like how you imagine a quiet beach getaway would look like. The room is super clean and because the place is new. Aircon works fine, shower is great, the bed is quite firm just the way we like it. They only rent 3 rooms, so you can be sure that it’s quite and peaceful at night. Just the perfect serene getaway like we need it. On the last day, we get a free taxi ride from the hotel to the pier. So, it was a really pleasant stay in Happy Koh Mak. One of the best place we ever stayed. Definitely a 5 out of 5-star experience!! We love Happy Koh Mak so much.
