スナイフェルスネス半島の氷河や海岸線を見渡せる雄大な眺望がすばらしい。"Welcome to Another World"という歓迎文句は嘘ではない。17世紀には交易の中心地だったという地域の歴史を偲ばせるものは残っていないが、周辺の教会や溶岩台地を歩くだけでも楽しい。ここからスナイフェルスネス半島を一周すると約200kmで、観光の拠点としても便利。 ２晩のディナーは私の10日間のアイスランド旅行の最高の食事となった。宿の規模が小さいので食材の種類は限られているが、シェフのアイデアは天才的。Beetrootは他の店でも出しそうなメニューだが、Celeryrootをメインディッシュに仕立てる技は驚嘆するほかない。ベジタリアンでも満足できる味だろう。もちろん肉、魚もExcellent。特にShellfish Soupは一度は味わうべきだ。朝食も高水準だがディナーほどは期待できない。朝食は朝８時からなので、観光で急ぐ人は注意。 建物は2001年に全燃後に建て替えられて比較的新しい。部屋はとても清潔。ほとんどの部屋にバスタブが付いているのは、日本人にとってはありがたい。ただし狭い部屋はバスタブもないし、窓が天窓だけとなる。部屋にティーセットがないのは残念。１階のバーに降りて注文するしかない（有料）。エレベーターがないので注意。

房間景色非常棒，可以看到週邊湖景和雪山，空間寬闊。旅館的一切充滿歷史細節，大廳和公共區域也很舒服。 唯一可惜是隔音，可能因為房子也有年紀了，樓上的走路聲很明顯，有點影響睡眠。

Amazing vintage hotel with an old world look and feel and seamlessly integrated into the beautiful landscape. Located right next to the iconic Búðakirkja and hiking trails nearby. Excellent gourmet dining at the onsite restaurant.

The staff was super and the Manager was exceptional. They were friendly and helpful. Facilities and breakfast were great. Recommend staying there.

El hotel está en un sitio increíble, con senderos a un volcán y playas. Tiene una iglesia al lado con mucha afluencia de turistas. Los detalles del hotel son buenos, toallas y ropa de cama de calidad. Lo único nos tocó una habitación en la parte antigua, una buhardilla, que para llegar tienes que atravesar una parte de la azotea al aire libre. El acceso a la bañera complicado para personas con problemas de movilidad, era alto y no tenía asidero.

The hotel was the perfect stay for us during our trip along the Ring Road. Accommodations were super clean and the staff were excellent. There's not much in the area, so we ate at the on-site restaurant for dinner. While the meal was quite tasty, the options were a bit limited and the service took quite a long time. We're normally used to the pace of service, but it seemed extra "relaxed" at this particular location. It didn't ruin our stay by any means; just be aware from a patience standpoint.

Great hotel. Great food. Probably the best bartender in the world. Would stay again 100%.

1. First and foremost very old property . Curtains are not covering the sun lights and barely they covered . Sleeping at night was horrible 2. The property does not include breakfast which is secondary unlike other properties 3. Window drapes is deal breaker

What a joy this hotel was after our journey along the Ring road. Nestled in a quiet spot next to the historic church; rests this lovely and serene hotel. The hotel reminds me of a modern nordic cabin, with beautifully designed rooms, modern baths, beds with luxe bedding and fabulous showers and amenities; plus an onsite restaurant with a delicious local menu. Book room 215, it was our favorite stay in Iceland.

I'm not necessarily a hotel person but this was an exceptional one. We were on the third floor above an area where you had to go outside briefly and that was a little weird, but that was the only oddity. Weather wasn't an issue so it wasn't a problem. The food was terrific. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and from starters to dessert it was perfect. I think the beet soup was one of the best I have ever had. Property sits adjacent to the black church and in the middle of a national park so there's plenty of hiking to do around it which is the reason we chose it. We hiked to one of the volcanoes which took about three and a half hours round trip but the view was amazing. You can also if you are brave go swimming or at least jump in the cold water. The sitting area is around the bar are also an added bonus and I would definitely make time to have a drink and take in the views.

What a gem! Great location off the beaten path with plenty of atmosphere and free parking. Our 2nd story room had great views to the volcano. Plenty of walkable paths nearby. Great restaurant with a decent breakfast.

The location was terrific. However, the food at dinner was not good enough for the place and the price. Instead of a small menu that was aspiring to ( but not achieving) fine dining, the menu should consist of a greater choice of good and well prepared bistro level food. It would be great to add a spa (sauna, hot tub etc) as an amenity to the hotel.

Schneller Check-in, schönes Zimmer, freundliches Personal. Schönes Frühstücksbuffet. Das eher teure Dinner war fein. Die Auswahl auf der Speisekarte ist nicht gerade gross (1 Suppe, 2 Fleischgerichte, 1 Fischgericht, 2 Desserts). Speziell, dass bei der Wahl des Menus nach der Wahl des Chefs 3 Gänge aus der doch „dünnen“ Auswahl serviert werden. Was soll‘s. Das Essen ist nicht das Wichtigste. Schöner Aufenthalt im Hotel Budir!
