スナイフェルスネス半島の氷河や海岸線を見渡せる雄大な眺望がすばらしい。"Welcome to Another World"という歓迎文句は嘘ではない。17世紀には交易の中心地だったという地域の歴史を偲ばせるものは残っていないが、周辺の教会や溶岩台地を歩くだけでも楽しい。ここからスナイフェルスネス半島を一周すると約200kmで、観光の拠点としても便利。 ２晩のディナーは私の10日間のアイスランド旅行の最高の食事となった。宿の規模が小さいので食材の種類は限られているが、シェフのアイデアは天才的。Beetrootは他の店でも出しそうなメニューだが、Celeryrootをメインディッシュに仕立てる技は驚嘆するほかない。ベジタリアンでも満足できる味だろう。もちろん肉、魚もExcellent。特にShellfish Soupは一度は味わうべきだ。朝食も高水準だがディナーほどは期待できない。朝食は朝８時からなので、観光で急ぐ人は注意。 建物は2001年に全燃後に建て替えられて比較的新しい。部屋はとても清潔。ほとんどの部屋にバスタブが付いているのは、日本人にとってはありがたい。ただし狭い部屋はバスタブもないし、窓が天窓だけとなる。部屋にティーセットがないのは残念。１階のバーに降りて注文するしかない（有料）。エレベーターがないので注意。

beautiful location and great breakfast

Quaint hotel - triple room was nice because it was actually 2 bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Dinner was nice but pricey and portions were smaller than most other hotels. Next to the Black Church.

Beautiful quiet setting. The views were amazing. Proximity to the black church and Bjarnarfoss waterfall was a bonus. In April, we saw seals outside our window and enjoyed excellent craft cocktails from the bar. I recommend staying here one night and dining at the hotel. Then go explore Snæfellsnes Peninsula and stay in Grundarfjörður next.

Amazing views, surprisingly upscale for the area

This was the absolute best hotel during our stay in Iceland! So clean, the staff was excellent, the bar area was great, the restaurant was top notch, our room was gorgeous, the view was beautiful, you name it, we loved it!! If you are considering staying here, you definitely should!

Great and cozy hotel

Quite discouraging that the hotel staff prioritized staff convenience over the guests experience. This property uses old-fashioned keys, hence it was obvious that virtually all of the third floor was vacant. But the rooms with the views were not offered. Quite disappointing.

Lovely, charming hotel in a stunning location. Good quality evening meal, only criticism would be portion size was quite small on the main course. Lovely staff and clean lovely room. Would definitely recommend.

Such a gorgeous property. We loved it so much and would love to come back again. The food at the restaurant was excellent as well. Thank you for making our trip so memorable! It was just breathtakingly beautiful!

The staff was so friendly and helpful and the hotel was beautiful and comfortable. It’s set on a remote beach so the views can’t be beat. The food was excellent as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location — the room accommodations were excellent... and we saw the Northern Lights!

While we were excited to be in Iceland to take in the landscape and sights, Hotel Budir was a whole experience in itself. It’s absolutely beautiful reminding us of a high-end inn with that is warm and inviting. Every one of the staff members from reception to the bartenders, to the chef were kind and drinks and food were nothing short of 5 star. The outside was just majestic with views of the sea and mountains. We only stayed here 2 nights, celebrating our 10 yr anniversary. But my husband kept saying how perfect everything was and I couldn’t have agreed more! We can’t see us returning to Iceland and not coming back to hotel Budir.
