This is such a nice, historic hotel. The staff are very, very nice and the location was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable and the cookies on arrival were a nice touch. Unfortunately, the bathroom is a deal breaker for us. There is no way to turn on the shower without being blasted with frigid water. The shower glass is inefficient in keeping the water actually in the shower, so sopping towels are what you step out onto. If there was an opening in the glass to turn on the water before getting in…that would solve one issue. We were in room 109 and I cannot recommend this particular room to anyone because of this.

We have been staying at this property for the last few years, which speaks for itself. Charles Hotel is a true "old charm" in the heart of a beautiful NOTL. Its location is perfect for those who appreciate quiet romantic spaces and, at the same time, would like to stay close to all the amenities. The hotel staff is very friendly and customer-oriented. The hotel grounds are well-maintained, which provide beautiful views from the hotel terraces and patios. Also even though there are no coffee makers in the rooms, you are able to order (for free) any teas and/or coffees which will be brought up directly to your room in a few minutes. Last, we would like to thank Alex for being very helpful and for honouring our room request! We are looking forward to coming back to this beautiful property in the future.

Charming, quiet and quirky Hotel close to Ontario lake and the golf club. Close to the main street. No elevator. Had a lovely stay, would stay here again !

O destaque é o conforto da cama, além do estilo do quarto (decoração). Mas como não tem nenhuma abertura para o lado externo, em se tratando de um casarão antigo, se você desligar o ar condicionado o cheiro de lugar fechado toma conta do ambiente. O destaque negativo é o banheiro. A ducha é boa, mas fica mal posicionada e acaba molhando todo o chão fora do box, que não é fechado. Além disso o banheiro é úmido o tempo todo. Piso molhado, toalhas que não ficam secas, isso foi extremamente desagradável.

We had a double room and it was a bit on the small side. Only a double bed which wasn’t the most comfortable. The shower was the highlight, great water pressure. Overall good stay but a bit overpriced considering breakfast isn’t even included.

Excellent location in Niagara on the lake. Great parking, walking distance to all local eateries and shops. Beautiful location. Not far from Niagara Falls, beautiful scenic drive there. Great Inn to stay.

El lugar es hermoso, a un lado del lago, a una cuadra de la zona de comercios, pero el personal de recepción, en particular las más jóvenes no se esfuerzan por darse a entender con las personas que no hablan inglés. Era muy difícil entenderles, les pedimos que repitieran y más lento, pero fue igual, un trato muy indiferente. Una pena porque el lugar es muy bonito.

this isn't for publishing, but for Expedia. I will not be booking through you again. The room charge was $5 more by booking through you, and what we got for $300+ was essentially a closet - we complained to the management and got $100 back, but it was because we booked with you that we got a poor room.

Room was loud, Windows had no room darkening. We stayed before so other rooms were fine but this one the door to the balcony is not sealed so loud car noise alll night

We loved everything about the Charles Inn except our room. Our queen size deluxe room was tiny with one chair that we had to use for luggage. No good space to put toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfasts were wonderful. The staff were very helpful.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful, spacious room. Wonderful shuttle service to visit wineries within the historic centre. Perfect location. Highly recommend.

Property is old and quaint. Very good location.

Our room was bigger than we expected. Bathroom was nice with a big shower. Our room could have used a full length mirror for dressing. Very nice place to stay with a short walk to shops and restaurants. Many wineries close by as well. We would certainly stay there again!

Service was fabulous, always someone there to help. Room was stunning and unique with floor to ceiling balcony access overlooking the golf course. Quiet location. Breakfast (Eggs Benedict) was superb!

Cozy as expected!!

One cozy spot! We honeymooned 35 years ago at Oban Inn. We decided to check out The Charles Hotel. What a great place! Thank you.

Staff were really helpful and friendly and the hotel had a rustic and old fashioned charm which was a nice change from glass fronted and steel framed modern hotels. Probably could do with a wee bit of a refresh but not to the extent that it would destroy the charm of this friendly hotel.
