The rooms and location are perfect. I think I just caught them on a bad day - the room was boiling hot - and I asked the staff to check, but to no avail. If I was probably a more noisy client, I would've had my room changed, but the pictures i took showed the room temp to be 78 Deg. Generally, I like their room size and feel.

Exterior looks ordinary but the interior is lovely. Room is very clean. Staff are very friendly. Staff evens shows us the actual court room. Breakfast is great.

We were there for a week but not once did they clean or empty garbage or bring new towels. I always had to find cleaning cart in the hallway to stock up on stuff

Prior to arriving I had questions and wanted to contact the hotel. I called the number listed multiple times and it continued to ring with no answer each time. When I arrived I expressed concerns that there may not be a working phone number listed. They checked their phone system and confirmed they had several missed calls from my phone number. No apology or reasoning was given when asked why they didn’t answer the phone after multiple calls. I let them know I would be providing this review and was very unhappy with the service. Unfortunate because had the service been great I would recommend this hotel. I will likely not stay here again.

Used to live in Thunder Bay years ago and always wanted to see the inside of the courthouse. It was wonderful to see that the history has been maintained. A beautiful place. Rooms were well done. Breakfast was better than we expected.

I checked in after midnight and the front desk attendant was helpful and informative. My room was clean and spacious with a nice large bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and I had great sleep for all 4 nights of my stay. I enjoyed the free breakfast on the morning of my check out and it’s located in a lovely room overlooking the lake. Plenty of ample, free parking is a great perk in such a central location. Thanks for the pleasant stay. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back next.

High ceilings made the room feel spacious. There were no plugs by the nightstands, and the outlet on the lamp didn't work, so we struggled to keep 2 phones, 2 tablets, and 2 sets of earbuds charged all week. The TV channel selection was very disappointing: no CNN, no US stations, no sports channels. Nobody came to tidy our room the first day. We bumped into the cleaner in the hall and asked for clean towels, but nobody picked up the garbage until we asked the front desk on the 3rd day to please send someone. The stairs in and out of the building are a major obstacle. There was a sign around the back of the building for someone with heavy luggage, but we couldn't find any elevator anywhere there. So we lugged heavy bags up 15 or so stairs. Not easy for seniors. There was actual dirt, like soil from somebody's shoes, in the bottom dresser drawer, so it obviously hadn't been checked or cleaned. Disappointing. Nice shower, but only one robe, not two. Overall, had potential, but didn't live up to it.

Very interesting place to stay very clean and very friendly staff

Room dirty 3 lge stains on couch as well as dried crud on armrest I refused to sit on it. I asked for another room and was told they were full and could not accommodate us.. Shower bar repair incomplete and the room was in the basement. The furniture is past its prime . When I enquired about the room being in the basement, I was informed that I should have asked Expedia where the room was located, What! No where on the Expedia website did it say that this was a room in the basement. The picture shown made the room look better than it was. The breakfast was nothing special. There were limited options for juice- only one and the potatoes tasted like soap. I noticed that room is not listed on the web site today. To those booking a room beware that lower level could very well mean the basement with the utility room and or laundry room right across from your room. A disappointment. I

We stayed for a two night staycation. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows could use updating. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were great. There was no body/hand lotion at the sink. Since this is a boutique hotel, it would be nice if real glasses and ceramic coffee mugs were in the room and not paper/plastic. The same goes for the breakfast room. Paper plates and wooden utensils cheapen the experience. The breakfast selection was pretty good. They had grocery store croissants. There are many local bakeries that I’m sure would love to provide their product for visitors to enjoy. It would also help promote the local businesses. The his hotel is a heritage building, so I think it should be a little fancier. Word of mouth is important, when it comes to tourism.
