Absolutely lovely place to stay with great amenities. I'd recommend to anyone!

It was a little bit noisy with the traffic which seemed to start rom aroung 4am onwards but the accommodation was excellent and finished to a very high standard

Nice apartment at the end of the Royal Mile next door to Holyrood Palace. Very clean and modern with a few caveats. 1) Check in instructions come an hour or so before the 3 pm check in. Email notes code to use to enter premises. There are two doors/gates from the street, and the code should work for both but ours only worked for the right door/gate which was the street entrance to the apt tower (walk down the little hallway tunnel then enter code again on the left at tower). The left door/gate is suppose to be the Lounge/laundry area that all guests can access but I was never able to check as our code didn’t work (I didn’t bother to ask for a new code as we had other issues to fix during our stay noted below). 2) Stairs and not accessible friendly. Just noting that the apartments are mostly in the tower which has a narrow winding staircase. 3) We stayed in Mrs Ludsmen and the one bedroom apt was very nice and clean. However pls note that the toilet was 100% not working (wouldn’t stop running and couldn’t flush until water ran its course which sometimes took a few hours). Other times, it worked fine for a few flushes then would start to run again. They did send someone out to check it out but I never received any info on the issue as we were out sightseeing. When we got back, it worked for 2 flushes and then it stopped working for a few hours. 4) If you need reliable WiFi, I would get your own or use your phone’s cell plan. The free WiFi barely worked no matter time of day.

We loved this apartment, but if WiFi is at all important to you, be warned that although it is billed as including WiFi, it only worked for us in the building lounge and not in our apartment at all. Beautiful building in beautiful location—nearest neighbor seemed to be the king? It’s right by the palace and across from the parliament building. Very quiet at night but it’s a walk to groceries. Housekeeping every day. Excellent bed but bed in fold out couch could have been better (but we have had worse). Check-in process was a little mysterious because our email with instructions didnt get send until very late morning that day and we had already left our previous accommodation and had no access to email

Excellent, spacious property that has everything you could need. Only issue I had was both smart TV’s was locked out of apps or had apps removed, so could not stream any shows for the kid to keep busy.

A lovely apt to have as a base. Easily walked to bus stops for the hop on hop off buses. Next to Holyrood Palace and Kings Gallery. You might even see protestors at the Scottish Parliament from your window as well as Arthur's seat. Abbey Strand had everything we needed and I would stay longer if I could. They have a wonderful laundry/ common lounge area.

IMPORTANT: I want to give a 4 but I can’t. The space is cute and cozy. 1. We initially had difficulty accessing the apartment and were given the wrong code.Ultimately we got in after about 20 minutes. 2 The remotes didn’t work and one tv was not functions all. We don’t watch tv much but it should work. 3. There is mold in the shower crevices near basin. 4. The bathroom floor has perma-dirt on the otherwise lovely tile. 5. THERE IS A WEEKLY FIRE ALARM on Thursdays (“per the palace”) and no one mentions this terrifying 9 am interruption of calm. Nuts. They treated this as normal. It’s not normal. The hotel is near things (nature & entertainment/food).and in a great location. The other amenities were fine. The support team is polite and swift. The housekeeper will probably smoke outside your window if you face the beautiful garden so mind the windows as she does not care about the influence of her habit upon guests. The client support is offsite so there’s a gap in services. Baggage storage is also offsite but conveniently near both castle and train station. There is no one onsite for such amenities. What’s good: comfy beds, usable kitchen space, private apartment on its own floor, a lovely courtyard, next to palace grounds and a museum, good bath supplies and a wonderful soak tub, and a bit of city view from multiple windows, nice decor and clean space beyond bathrooms.

Loved staying at Abbey Strand! Very historic building but with all modern conveniences. Quiet part of Royal Mile away from noise & traffic but easy walk to anywhere. No air conditioning but temps are generally cooler. Definitely recommend a stay when in Edinburgh.

We never got a code to go in. We called the number and it took them 20 minutes to find a code that works. There was no air conditioning. The pull out couch didn’t fit in the room when opened. The hair dryer didn’t work well and the toilet kept running. I called to speaks to a manager but they never called me back.

Excellent location and beautiful place

We thought the room was really amazing and in just about the best location you could imagine. We had a lot of trouble with instructions such as we received a map for parking and the map had nothing to do with where parking actually would be. We were told there was a common room where we could do laundry, but we never discovered where that common room might be so there were definitely some communications issues With a mysterious person who we would communicate with via messages . We ended up parking very expensively in one place the day we rented a car. We never got the laundry done.

Amazing location and apartment . Would highly recommend and would definitely book again when visiting Edinburgh.

Only gave 4 stars because the check in process could have been a better experience. Besides this, the place and location are A++. It was 3 of us and we were comfortable and luxurious in the space. Thank you!
