I’ve stayed here many times over the years, and it will always be my go to whenever I’m in Bahrain. The hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient whether you’re here for business or leisure. There’s a great selection of restaurants on-site, my favorite is the Japanese, followed closely by the Mexican. The highlight of my stay was spending the whole day at the pool, where Sunday and David took excellent care of me. They truly went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Yes, this is an older hotel, and you notice it as soon as you walk in. But that’s never been an issue for me. I actually appreciate well maintained classic hotels, as long as they’re clean and have everything I need. Thank you, Gulf Hotel!

It’s my go to place to stay in Bahrain. Nice area, very comfortable and friendly staff.

The Gulf Hotel is legendary in Bahrain and I appreciate its number of restaurants and access to Manama, but it is really too old and too worn down to be a 5 star hotel.

Always it’s a really pleasure be back in this a amazing Hotel which treats the guest as being at home.

This hotel is very bad! The reception promise a good room you see something terrible.

Ceiling started leaking water through the lights and all they did was move rooms for a few hours and no offer of compensation or anything to make us more comfortable after a very scary event from an overflowing bath tub above us

Staff and the main areas of the hotel are really nice. Our room however not so. We booked a non smoking room and the first thing you smelt was stale tobacco. The air con was so cold that the bed was damp and smelt like it had been damp for quite a while. It was so cold we turned off the air con but never got any sleep. Colder than camping in Wales in the spring. The decor is very dated and there was a very strange odour in the bathroom. The swimming pool was in need of a lot of repairs too. Lots of tiles missing and the edges were very rickety and felt unsafe. Stayed in quite a few hotels and this was one of the worst. Very disappointed as it wasn't cheap either.

Great atmosphere, staff and food selection. Nice rooms, huge lobby and plenty to do. The pool is also great Great location and beautiful approach

Fantastic location but the check in was extremely slow, we had to wait over 45 mins in line to receive the keys to our room. The luggage service was also slow, I asked them to allow to take my own bags to the room. Other than that, room was clean and met our needs, it’s not the first time we stay here, but we decided to provide feedback to see some improvements in the future.

We have used the Gulf hotel many times over the years and always enjoyed our stays in both the hotel rooms and apartments. The staff are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. The pool is lovely and there are loads of on-site dining options. Or if you don’t want to eat in the hotel, there are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance. We love the place so much we are already looking at booking another stay next year!

Great facilities, close by restaurants and easy to get around from the hotel. Staff were great.

The Buffet could use some additional selections

Nice hotel close to the shopping mall and only 15 minutes from the airport. Pool area is very tired with broken tiles and faded woodwork. Sunbeds are old and not enough side tables. Nice breakfast with huge fresh selection. Lots of other nice restaurants on site too. I would recommend staying here but pool area definitely needs a massive refurbishment. Hopefully now it’s a Marriot they will make the improvements needed
