I like the location

We chose a basic room and it was basic, but in a clean and tidy condition. There was a period of no running water, but a water supply for bathing & other sanitory use was available throughout the period of water loss, via water storage containers. This brought me back to my childhood; a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The location was within walking distance to the Kwame Nkruma Memorial Park, the arts centre and Mukola market. Financial centre for cash/atm machines, public transport i.e. buses and taxis were also within walking distance.

My booking got lost. Luckily they had a room left that they gave to me. However, there was no running water, the light in the bathroom and in the toilet did not work. The toilet had a quite strong smell. Possibly it hadn't been cleaned properly due to the problems with the light and the water. The staff was nice and tried to help as much as possible. The location right at the sea is great.

We truly appreciated the friendly staff. They were fully understanding of our needs and dutifully helped us with our hotels.com booking. We thank you for opening up your amazingly authentic location to us and look forward to visiting again in the future.

The rising phoenix or Akuma Village (how the locals call it) is a simple and lovely Place to stay. The Beach is just 1 Min away. The Staff is verry kind and the food is fresh & excellent. It is a place where you can feel a lot of Love amongst the people. We had the luck to participate at a Reggae Soundsystem Dance with local artists to proof their talents. What a Vibration and high Energy!

We had a wonderful time. Staff were all very polite and accommodating.

I always stay here when in Ghana, great spot for hippie travellers. Ocean views and veggie food.

I have stayed here 4 times and will return to ideal place by the sea, perfect for hippie travellers with great veggie foods

It’s good to have a budget hotel in such a wonderful location right on the coast. Very relaxing hotel with well priced food and drinks and nice atmosphere. A real Ghana experience. Wonderful people.

I loved the sound of the waves and the view of the ocean from ymy room. The staff was kind, helpful, friendly and the service was excellent. The accommodation is basic. The people who live outside of the Rising Phoenix compound are very poor but friendly!

I booked a week stay at this hotel. When I got there, my room was not ready. I was upgraded to a room with a bathroom and had to pay extra. I should not have had to pay for an upgrade considering the room I booked was not ready. The room was not clean and I had to request the room be cleaned. The room door was broken also. I was told it would be fixed that day, and two days passed and it was not fixed. The staff was kind. They were willing to help get things in place, but they should have been done in advance. The neighborhood is not the best either. My cab driver was concerned about leaving me there, but inside of the resort, it was pleasant. Taking a cab from the front was fine and getting dropped off there was fine also. There was music and a bar. The vibe was nice. Being able to overlook the ocean was nice, but the room really wasn't nice to stay in. I ended up not staying there at all. The cost was super affordable, but what you pay for is what you get. When I came back to get my things, I noticed a big wet stain on the bed as the roof leaked when it rained the night before. I was in room #3. The staff was very nice and helpful, but the hotel needs work.

Worst place ever

It's a cool place in a convenient location. The staff is polite, but you may not have running water during your stay.

Initially they did not know which room I booked and where to put me. The room was tired and very basic, but that was expected. The bed was good, lightning was poor,shower nonexistent (bucket of water with a little jar), toilet was ok, had to ask for toilet paper. The view was nice if it was not for the rubbish all over - plastic everywhere. Staff was not overly friendly

Wundervoller Blick auf den Atlantik. Jedoch hat das Resort wohl die besten Tage hinter sich. Schade eigentlich. Wäre ein tolles Resort wenn man sich drum bemühen würde.

It's a very low priced place without any of the normal amenities of a standard hotel. No soap. No shampoo. No towels. No toilet paper. It's basically a hostel next to the beach. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy.

This place was in very poor condition, we couldn't spend a moment there. We made a u turn and found another place to stay
